Quick facts: the Labyrinth Myth vendor

The system is small and predictable: one quest a week, one fragment per quest, three fragments per item. These details come from Wowhead's breakdown, published once the system had been live for three weekly resets.

  3. Turn the quest in for your Mythical Soul Fragment.
  4. Once you have three fragments, open Wah'du's selection, check the stats and buy the slot you want.

12.1.5 went live on October 13 in the Americas and October 14 in Europe. Players who completed the quest every week since launch are reaching their third fragment around now, so the first Labyrinth Myth purchases are only just happening.

Where do Mythical Soul Fragments come from?

In the system Wowhead describes, Mythical Soul Fragments come from Wah'du's weekly Labyrinth quest, one per completed quest. That source caps how fast you can earn them, because only one quest unlocks each week.

The chamber changes from week to week, so you can't just repeat your favourite wing. Read the quest text before you queue, so you don't clear the wrong part of Kindo'jan.

Which Myth 2/6 item should you buy from Wah'du first?

Buy a weapon first if your current one is below Myth. The weapon is usually the biggest single upgrade for any spec, and later it can take Ascendant Venomstones. For a second purchase, look at the neck.

The reason is the Catalyst upgrade in Silvermoon City. Ten Ascendant Venomstones raise a fully upgraded Season 2 Myth weapon, trinket or necklace above the normal cap. Wowhead lists item level 341 for non-crafted Myth after the October 22 hotfix. Rings and back pieces can't take that upgrade, so they make sense only when they fill a real hole in your gear.

SlotTakes Venomstones later? When to buy it
WeaponYes, once fully upgradedFirst pick for almost everyone below Myth
NeckYes, once fully upgradedStrong second pick
RingsNoWhen both rings are clearly behind or have poor stats
BackNoLow priority unless your cloak is far behind
ArmorNoOnly for a slot with no good tier or vault option

Because you see the stats before you buy, you can pick secondaries for your spec instead of trusting a random drop. That makes rings tempting for anyone tired of bad secondary stats on their rings. It's a reasonable choice as long as you know you are giving up the Venomstone ceiling.

What item level is Myth 2/6 Labyrinth gear?

The sources we can confirm give no exact item level for the Labyrinth vendor items. Blizzard has not published Labyrinth item levels. What we can say is that the items start at rank 2 of the six-rank Myth track and can be upgraded like any other Myth piece.

Check the tooltip in Wah'du's selection before you spend your fragments. It shows the real number on your character.

Can you catch up on Mythical Soul Fragments if you missed weeks?

Yes, missed weeks can be caught up: Wah'du offers one quest at a time until you are caught up, and according to Wowhead you might even finish more than one in the same run.

A player who starts late can run Kindo'jan several times in a week and clear the backlog quest by quest.

How do you make Tier 8 Labyrinth runs easier?

Use the run's own systems. According to Wowhead's Labyrinth guides, Mislaid Curiosities stack stat buffs very high inside a single run, Hexmasks open locked rooms, and Sturdy Chests give a lot of reputation.

If you'd rather not spend your evenings fighting buggy Tier 8 chambers alone, PewPewShop's vetted human players can run the Labyrinth with you as coaching or play-together sessions. Mythic+ help for your other slots starts at from 26 EUR.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Mythical Soul Fragment in WoW Midnight?

A Mythical Soul Fragment is the reward from Wah'du's weekly Labyrinth of Kindo'jan quest, which asks you to clear one specific chamber on Tier 8 or higher. You get one fragment per quest. Three fragments buy one Myth 2/6 item from Wah'du's selection, and you can see its stats before you buy.

How many weeks does it take to get Myth 2/6 gear from Labyrinths?

It takes three weeks per item if you do Wah'du's quest every week, because each quest gives one Mythical Soul Fragment and an item costs three. Missed weeks can be caught up one quest at a time, and per Wowhead you might finish more than one in the same run.

What difficulty does Wah'du's Labyrinth quest require?

Wah'du's weekly quest needs the named Labyrinth chamber cleared on Tier 8 or higher. Higher tiers count too. A full Tier 11 clear with Restored Coffer Keys also gives Bountiful chests, which can contain Ascendant Venomstones, according to Wowhead.

Can I buy Myth rings from the Labyrinth vendor?

Yes. Wah'du's Myth 2/6 selection includes rings, along with back, neck, weapons and armor for every armor type. Rings are a fine pick if yours have poor secondary stats. Unlike weapons and necklaces, though, rings can't be raised further with Ascendant Venomstones at the Catalyst.

Which Labyrinth Myth item is the best first purchase?

For most players the weapon is the best first purchase, with the neck second. Both slots can take Ascendant Venomstones once fully upgraded. Ten Venomstones push a non-crafted Myth piece to item level 341, according to Wowhead. Rings, back and armor don't get that extra ceiling.
