The Burning Crusade has nine raids, released in this order: Karazhan, Gruul's Lair and Magtheridon's Lair (Phase 1), Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep: The Eye (Phase 2), Mount Hyjal and Black Temple (Phase 3), then Zul'Aman and Sunwell Plateau. On the Anniversary realms, Phase 3 is the current phase. Zul'Aman and Sunwell have no announced date yet.

Blizzard's announcement says the Phase 1 and Phase 2 raids came out in their post-nerf versions. Phase 3 added Tier 6 sets, with extra tier token drops in this version, plus the Warglaives of Azzinoth from Illidan.

Do them in release order. Karazhan is where a fresh 70 gets geared. Gruul and Magtheridon finish off Tier 4. Serpentshrine and The Eye give Tier 5, and Hyjal and Black Temple give Tier 6. Each step expects gear from the one before it. Most guilds clear Karazhan and the two Phase 1 25-player raids in the same week. In Phase 3, Hyjal usually comes before Black Temple.
Do TBC raids need attunements?
Some do. Karazhan needs the Master's Key questline. Serpentshrine needs the Cudgel of Kar'desh, which takes items from Gruul and from Nightbane in Karazhan. The Eye needs the Tempest Key, which means the Trials of the Naaru heroic dungeon quests and a Magtheridon kill. Mount Hyjal needs the vials from Lady Vashj and Kael'thas, and Black Temple needs the Akama questline. Gruul and Magtheridon have no attunement.
One big Anniversary change: attunements are account-wide. Finish one on any character and that raid is open to every character on your account. Blizzard has not said whether these attunements will ever be removed in this version.
Which TBC raid is current right now?
Phase 3 has been live on the Anniversary realms since August 27, 2026. That makes Black Temple and Mount Hyjal the endgame raids. The earlier raids are still useful for gearing alts and filling empty slots.
When do Zul'Aman and Sunwell come out?
Nobody knows yet. Blizzard has not announced dates for Zul'Aman, Sunwell Plateau, the Isle of Quel'Danas or Magisters' Terrace. In the original expansion, Zul'Aman came before Sunwell, so expect the same order. Treat any specific date you see elsewhere as a guess.
