Zul'Gurub on WoW Classic 20th Anniversary realms resets every 3 days, not once a week. The lockout runs on a fixed rolling cycle that rotates through the days of the week, with the reset landing at your region's normal daily reset hour. Open the Raid Info window (/raidinfo) in game to see the exact countdown for your current lockout.

Zul'Gurub reset at a glance

  • Lockout length: 3 days, same timer Classic has always used for the 20-man troll raid.
  • Cycle type: rolling and server-wide. The reset day shifts forward each cycle, so ZG lands on a different weekday over time. It is not tied to the weekly raid reset.
  • Time of day: the reset fires at the standard daily reset hour for your region (the same hour daily quests roll over).
  • Exact countdown: type /raidinfo or open the Social > Raid tab. Once you are saved, the game shows hours and minutes remaining on that specific ID.
  • Bosses per lockout: High Priestess Jeklik, High Priest Venoxis, High Priestess Mar'li, Bloodlord Mandokir, Edge of Madness (one of four rotating bosses), Gahz'ranka, High Priest Thekal, High Priestess Arlokk, Jin'do the Hexxer and Hakkar.
  • Raid size: 20 players.

How the other Classic raids compare

RaidSizeReset
Zul'Gurub20Every 3 days (rolling)
Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ20)20Every 3 days (rolling)
Onyxia's Lair40Every 5 days (rolling)
Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, Naxxramas40Weekly, on the fixed weekly reset day

The practical upshot: over a two-week span you can clear ZG four to five times, while a 40-man raid only opens twice. That is why ZG is the best steady source of Zandalar reputation, Bijous, Coins and the Zandalar Tribe enchants on Anniversary realms.

Why did my ZG lockout reset on a different day than last time?

Because the 3-day timer does not care about weekdays. If the instance reset on a Monday, the next reset is Thursday, then Sunday, then Wednesday, and so on. Guilds that raid ZG on a fixed evening will sometimes find a cycle where two resets fall between their raid nights and one where none does. Planning around the /raidinfo countdown rather than a calendar day avoids wasted trips to Stranglethorn Vale.

Does the Tuesday or Wednesday weekly reset also reset Zul'Gurub?

No. The weekly reset only clears the 40-man raid IDs. Zul'Gurub keeps ticking on its own 3-day schedule. If you got saved to ZG the night before the weekly reset, you will still be locked to that ID until its own timer runs out. The same applies to AQ20 and Onyxia, which each follow their own rolling timers.

Can I see the ZG reset timer before I am saved?

Only indirectly. The Raid Info window shows a countdown just for lockouts you already hold. Before you have an ID, the reliable method is to note when your last ZG lockout expired and count forward in 3-day steps, since the server-wide cycle is fixed. Many Anniversary guilds keep a pinned message in their Discord with the next few reset dates for exactly this reason.

Do Bloodlord Mandokir's raptor and the tiger mount reset with the lockout?

Yes. The Swift Razzashi Raptor from Bloodlord Mandokir and the Swift Zulian Tiger from High Priest Thekal are ordinary boss loot, so each fresh lockout is another chance at them. With a 3-day timer, a group that clears every reset gets roughly ten attempts per month at each mount, which is far more shots than any weekly raid offers.
