If your WoW character boost didn't work, the boost token is almost always still on your account — it just isn't showing yet. Fully quit the game and the Battle.net app, restart both, then look at the character-select screen for the boost banner or open Shop > Services. A boost only "disappears" for real if it was applied to a character you didn't expect, and Blizzard can always trace and restore it.
Quick fixes, in order
- Restart everything. Close WoW, then close Battle.net completely (right-click the tray icon > Exit). Reopen and re-check character select.
- Check the right region and account. Boosts are tied to the specific WoW account and region they were bought on. If you run multiple accounts, log into each one.
- Confirm the character is eligible. You can't boost a character above the boost's target level, and some setups (already-max Death Knights, Demon Hunters, or Evokers) won't accept one.
- Look in the Services tab. Shop > Services lists unused boosts. If it's there, apply it manually rather than through any expansion pop-up.
- Open a Blizzard ticket. If the charge went through but nothing was granted, Support can see the transaction and re-grant or refund it, usually within a day or two.
Why did my boost vanish after buying the expansion?
Expansion boosts often unlock a day or two after purchase, or after the current pre-patch/season goes live — not instantly. If you just bought the game, give it a client restart and, if needed, a few hours. The entitlement is logged to your account either way, so nothing is lost.
Can I get my money back if the boost failed?
Yes. If you were charged but received no usable boost, Blizzard treats it as a failed purchase. Submit a ticket under Payments > refund/duplicate charge, attach the order number from your Battle.net transaction history, and they'll correct it. Third-party "boosts" bought outside Blizzard follow that seller's own refund terms instead.
My boosted character is stuck at the wrong level — is that a bug?
Usually not. Blizzard's built-in boosts have a fixed target level tied to the expansion, so your character lands a little below the newest level cap, not at max. That's working as intended — you finish the last stretch through normal questing or a leveling service.
