Day of the Dead at a glance
The event takes about ten minutes per character. It has no dungeon boss and no daily quest chain. What it does have is a dance, a vendor and one achievement.

What is the Catrina quest in WoW?
Catrina has no traditional quest. You dance with her. Target her, use /dance, and she turns you into a dancing skeleton for a while. That interaction is what Dead Man's Party counts.
If nothing happens, you are usually out of range or have the wrong target. Stand next to her and try again.
Does Chapman sell Day of the Dead masks?
Yes. Chapman sells last year's masks: Crown of the Dead, Deathmask and Remembrance Veil, each in Heartblossom, Lotus, Marigold, Orchid and Starflower. There are no new additions in 2026.
If you bought them in 2025, there is nothing new to buy this year.
Are there Calavera achievements in WoW?
Yes. Besides Dead Man's Party there are the Calavera achievements, which you earn by dueling in costume. The holiday is the easiest time, because many players duel around the vendors.
Use costume toys such as the "Blooming Rose" Contender's Costume; they still count outside the holiday if you own the toys.
Is the Macabre Marionette worth buying?
Yes, if you collect pets. It is only sold during this short window, so missing it means waiting a year. It is a cosmetic pet and not a strong battler, but it counts toward your collection totals.
Does Day of the Dead count toward What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been?
Day of the Dead is not one of the holiday metas that make up the long holiday achievement. Most players do Dead Man's Party for points and completeness, not for a mount. Hallow's End, which ends just before this holiday, is the one that matters for the meta.
If you would rather have help with holiday achievements, pet collecting or a wider collector goal, PewPewShop's vetted human players offer coaching and play-together sessions. Achievement help starts from 9 EUR.
Frequently asked questions
When does Day of the Dead start and end in WoW?
Day of the Dead went live on November 1, 2026 and lasts a few short days. Start and end times depend on your region's server reset, so the in-game calendar is the reliable source. Because the event is only a few days long, do the dance and the vendor shopping as soon as you see it on the calendar.
Where is Catrina in WoW?
Catrina appears at decorated graveyards beside the major capitals and several starting towns for both factions. Look for marigolds, candles and the vendor Chapman standing next to her. Dead Man's Party needs one dance with her.
How do you get the skeleton costume in WoW Day of the Dead?
Target Catrina at a decorated graveyard and type /dance while standing close to her. She transforms you into a dancing skeleton for a while. This is the same interaction that counts toward the Dead Man's Party achievement, so you get both at once.
How do I get the Macabre Marionette pet?
The Macabre Marionette is sold for gold by Chapman, the Day of the Dead vendor standing next to Catrina. It is only available while the holiday is active, so buy it during the holiday. Once learned, it stays in your account-wide pet collection.
Is Day of the Dead the same as Hallow's End in WoW?
No. Hallow's End is the longer Halloween festival with the Headless Horseman, candy buckets and masks. Day of the Dead is a separate, much shorter holiday that follows it, centered on Catrina, Chapman and its achievements.
