Blizzard's known-issues list for the WoW: Forever beta on September 17 names seven bugs: a LUA error when using a barber chair, the Friends list disabled, the minimap drawn off-screen, a Waylaid Crate stacking bug, Legacy panel errors before you reach 25 points, guild charters that accept no signatures, and wrong pet and glancing-blow numbers on screen. Most of these are UI and display faults, not blockers — you can still level to the cap and run the two week-1 dungeons.

The day-one list at a glance

IssueWhat you'll seeDoes it block play?
Barber chair LUA errorAn error window pops when you sit in a barber chair (Stormwind confirmed to have one)No — close the error, cosmetics can wait
Friends list disabledThe social panel is off; grouping goes through chat, /who and guildAnnoying, not blocking
Minimap off-screenThe minimap renders partly or fully outside the visible areaDepends on your UI scale and resolution
Waylaid Crate stack bugSupply crates for the Azeroth Commerce Authority / Durotar Supply and Logistics don't stack as intendedNo — bag space only
Legacy panel "Y" errorsThe Legacy panel throws errors until you have 25 points — nobody has that in a level-20 betaNo, Legacy is mostly for test viewing here
Guild chartersCharters cannot collect signatures, so guild creation is brokenYes for guild-based testing
Pet / glancing-blow displayHunter pet stats and glancing-blow numbers show wrong values in tooltips and combat textNo — visual only, per Blizzard

Blizzard posts the running list in the official WoW: Forever forum category; check there before you file a duplicate report. Anything not on that list is fair game for a bug report.

What's actually open in week 1

  • Beta window: September 17 – October 21, 2026. The level cap starts at 20 and rises to 30 later.
  • Week 1 content: the Skyborne race and Zephras Isle (1–12), Hall of Thanes (13–18, under Ironforge), Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20), and every zone up to level 20.
  • Later waves: more zones and dungeons, the Darkspear Islands 15v15 battleground, and a "Server Slam" where the servers open to everyone for a few hours (date pending).
  • Access: opt-in sign-ups with invite waves, or instant access with the Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection. Install through the Battle.net app → World of Warcraft → Game Version "World of Warcraft: Forever Beta".

Why does the beta crash or refuse to launch on my PC?

Forever's client needs a GPU with RGBA16F UAV support in compute shaders. In practice that means AMD GCN 1 (2012), NVIDIA Maxwell (2014) or Intel Skylake (2015) and newer. A Radeon HD 7850, GTX 750 Ti, GTX 9xx or Intel HD 530 will start the game (still under minimum spec); a Radeon HD 6950, GTX 760–780, GTX 8xxM or Intel HD 6000 will not. If you're on that second group, no setting fixes it — the hardware lacks the feature.

If your card qualifies and the game still fails, treat it as a normal beta bug: repair the install from the Battle.net app, reset the WTF/Cache folders for the beta build, and report it with your DxDiag attached.

How do I report a WoW: Forever beta bug?

Use the in-game bug report tool first — it attaches your character, position and client build automatically, which is what Blizzard wants. For discussion and cross-checking with other testers, the official WoW: Forever forum category (opened September 12) has the bug-report and known-issues threads. Read the pinned known-issues list before posting; the seven items above are already logged and re-reporting them adds nothing.

Is the Legacy panel error a sign Legacy is broken?

No. The panel errors only when you have fewer than 25 Legacy points, and with a level-20 cap and week-1 content nobody is close to that. Legacy earns points from challenges such as leveling a class or hitting tradeskill milestones (150/225/300), with cosmetic rewards at 15, 25, 40 and 55 points claimed from Innkeeper Wiley in Ratchet. Expect the panel to be a low priority fix until the cap rises to 30 and more challenges become reachable.

Does beta progress carry over to launch?

Blizzard has not said that anything from the beta carries into the live game, and standard practice for WoW betas is a full wipe. Plan on starting fresh on November 4 at 3 p.m. Pacific. Name reservation (October 27 – November 3, up to three characters with any upgrade pack) is the part worth preparing for now: Forever names are a mandatory two-part first + last name, unique across your whole region.

If you'd rather spend the beta testing than grinding, or want a clean 1–60 sorted once Forever goes live, PewPewShop's vetted human players can help — Forever Leveling 1–30 starts from EUR 13, a Drowned City Dungeon Run from EUR 16, and the Launch-Ready Pack (1–60, pre-raid gear, 500g) from EUR 219 as pre-orders until launch day. Coaching and play-together only, no bots.
