In WoW: Forever, every profession gets three craftable campfire objects, each unlocked at a different skill level and each granting its own one-hour buff at a Basic Campfire. Blizzard has confirmed three so far: the Blacksmith Sharpening Wheel (+Attack Power), the Tailor Faction Banner (+Spirit) and the Herbalist Incense Candle (+Intellect). The first tier of every profession's objects becomes available at profession skill 20.

Quick rules that apply to all of them:

  • A Basic Campfire (the old Cooking Fire, renamed) holds up to three objects from nearby players — one per player.
  • Placing an object uses a shared one-hour cooldown, and the buffs last one hour.
  • Each object buff is a variant of a class buff and does not stack with the matching class buff.
  • Every profession has three objects at three skill levels. Blizzard has only named the ones above; the rest of the list, the exact buff values and the boss drop locations for Blueprints are not published yet.

How do you learn your first campfire object in WoW: Forever?

Reach skill 20 in your profession, then visit a camping NPC or your profession trainer. That is where the entry-tier object for your craft lives — a Blacksmith picks up the Sharpening Wheel there, a Tailor the Faction Banner, a Herbalist the Incense Candle. Skill 20 is a few minutes of crafting for any starting-zone character, so most players will have their first object before leaving the 1–12 area.

The higher tiers work differently. Advanced objects come from Blueprint recipes that drop from specific dungeon bosses. Blizzard named the Alchemy Lab and the Tanning Rack as Blueprint-sourced, and confirmed the Tanning Rack is a requirement for advanced Leatherworking rather than just a buff station. Which bosses carry which Blueprint has not been announced.

Does the Sharpening Wheel stack with Battle Shout or the Faction Banner with Divine Spirit?

No. Blizzard describes the campfire buffs as variants of existing class buffs, and they are explicitly non-stacking with them. Think of the Sharpening Wheel as an Attack Power buff for groups without a Warrior, the Faction Banner as a Spirit buff for groups without a Priest, and the Incense Candle as an Intellect buff for groups without a Mage. Worth noting: Divine Spirit is baseline for Priests in Forever, so the Faction Banner mostly matters when you are questing solo or in a Priest-less dungeon group.

If your party already has the class buff, the practical move is to place a different object. Three players can each add one, so a Blacksmith, a Tailor and a Herbalist together cover three stats from one fire.

Why does a Cook get bigger campfires?

Cooking owns the fire itself. Cooks learn upgraded Campfires that hold five or ten objects instead of three, which is the difference between a solo camp and a raid-prep camp. Combined with the 600+ new profession recipes and crafted food that grants a small XP bonus plus stat boosts, Cooking is a stronger pick in Forever than it ever was in original Classic. Exact skill levels for the five- and ten-slot fires are not published.

Which profession is best for campfire objects at launch?

There is no wrong answer yet, because only three buffs and two Blueprint objects are known. Match the object to your character rather than chasing a tier list: melee wants the Blacksmith Sharpening Wheel, casters want the Herbalist Incense Candle, healers get the most from the Tailor Faction Banner. If you play with a fixed group, spread professions so your three campfire slots carry three different buffs.
