Blizzard has not published item stats, item levels or loot tables for World of Warcraft: Forever, so the real scale of item power creep is unknown right now. What is confirmed: the level cap stays at 60 permanently and new content ships in patches, with nine new dungeons and two new raids at launch and more raids in 2027, so gear rather than levels will carry long-term progression.

Why is power creep even a worry in an endless level 60 game?

Because levels can't grow, gear is the only lever left. Every new raid tier has to reward something better than the last one, or nobody runs it. Original Classic already had that curve: Molten Core gear was outclassed by Blackwing Lair, which was outclassed by AQ40 and Naxxramas. Forever's roadmap adds two launch raids, two more in spring 2027 and two more in summer 2027, and each one presumably brings a new gear step.

The open question is how steep those steps are. Blizzard has said nothing about item level scaling, stat budgets or any catch-up mechanism, so anyone quoting exact numbers today is guessing. Treat leaks and rumors as noise; only Blizzard's own posts and panels count.

Will old Classic items be changed or replaced?

Not announced either way. Blizzard confirmed that classes, specializations, talents, professions and the Honor system are all reworked, and that every original dungeon returns alongside the nine new ones. Whether the loot inside those old dungeons keeps its original stats, gets retuned to match the class changes, or gets pushed aside by the new dungeons' drops has not been published.

One hint worth reading carefully: Wowhead photographed "Spelunker" achievements at the BlizzCon demo that group the new dungeons with old ones by tier, for example Alcaz Prison, Shaper's Terrace and Blackmaw Hold alongside Blackrock Depths, Scholomance and Stratholme. That suggests the new 40-60 dungeons sit at the same level band as the old endgame ones, but it says nothing about which loot is stronger.

When will actual Forever item data be visible?

Later than you'd hope. The beta runs September 17 to October 21, 2026, capped at level 30, so endgame gear will not be datamined from beta play. The Blizzard Q&A on September 17 (18:00 BST / 10:00 PDT on the Warcraft Twitch and YouTube channels) takes forum questions about Forever and Midnight, so an item-tuning answer is possible there. Launch is November 4, 2026 at 3 p.m. Pacific, and the raids open December 9, so raid loot comparisons realistically arrive in December.

Does "Classic Plus" mean the same items as Classic Era?

"Classic Plus" and "Classic+" are community shorthand for Forever, not an official spec. Forever is a third experience built by the Classic team next to Modern and Classic, set in WoW's first year, with new zones, a new race and reworked systems. Whether Classic Era realms keep running unchanged, and whether anything carries across versions, is unknown.

If you would rather get raid-ready fast once the answers land, PewPewShop takes Forever pre-orders until November 4: coaching-style dungeon runs with vetted human players from EUR 12, and a Forever Pre-Raid Gearing package from EUR 59, with raid clears available from December 9.
