Is a launch-ready pack worth it, or should I level myself?
Honest answer: it depends on what you want out of the first month. Forever is a fresh world at a fixed cap of 60, and the leveling zones — Zephras Isle, the Riverglades, Mount Hyjal — are new. If exploring them once at your own pace is the point, do it yourself and skip the pack.
If your guild has already pencilled in December 9 for Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit, the maths changes. Three weeks of evenings to hit 60, then more dungeon runs for gear, then gold for consumables — that is most of the launch window. A pack turns that into a character that is raid-ready the day raids open, without you sacrificing every weeknight.
Launch-Ready vs Skyborne vs Raid-Night pack — which one?
They stack in a rough ladder. The Skyborne Pack (from EUR 139) is leveling to 60 that starts on Zephras Isle with the new elven race; you need Blizzard's Skyborne Heroic Pack (€29.99) or higher to unlock the race itself. The Forever Raid-Night Pack (from EUR 179) is 60 plus gear plus a Barrow Deeps clear once the 10-player raid opens on December 9. The Launch-Ready Pack (from EUR 219) is the broadest: 60, pre-raid gear and 500 gold so the character is self-sufficient, not just geared.
Pick Skyborne if you only care about the level; Raid-Night if you want the first raid handled too; Launch-Ready if you want everything done and a gold cushion left over.
When does the pack actually start and finish?
Nothing can start before servers go live on November 4, 2026. Every Forever order placed before that date is a pre-order that locks your slot in the launch queue. Leveling begins on launch day, takes roughly 2–3 weeks under launch-week conditions, and the gear and gold portions follow immediately after. The whole thing is planned to land before December 9, when Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and the 40-player Onyxia's Lair unlock together.
Can I reserve my name before the pack starts?
Yes, and you should. Early Name Reservation runs October 27 – November 3 for anyone with a Blizzard upgrade pack, up to three characters, first come first served. Forever names are a Main Name plus a Secondary Name, so lock both. Create the character yourself during that window; the leveling then picks up on the one you made.
