Desperate Prayer (an instant self-heal) is the same for Dwarf and Human, so you give up nothing there. Undead gets Will of the Forsaken, which breaks fear, charm and sleep on demand, and Devouring Plague, a strong shadow DoT that heals you for the damage it deals. Troll gets Berserking, a haste burst that speeds up your heals, and Hex of Weakness, which cuts the target's healing received and is a genuine PvP tool. Is Human a good priest race in Classic?

Yes. The extra 5% Spirit translates directly into more out-of-combat and five-second-rule regen, which matters on long Classic raid fights where healers run dry. Human also shares Desperate Prayer with Dwarf, and Feedback burns mana off enemy casters in PvP. Human is the best Alliance race for a priest who will never see a fear-heavy encounter, or who simply prefers the look. If your guild already has Dwarf priests covering Fear Ward, Human loses nothing.

Is Night Elf a bad priest race?

Not bad, just niche. Starshards is a decent channeled damage spell while leveling, and Elune's Grace is a short defensive buff. Shadowmeld is fun in world PvP. But Night Elf offers no raid utility comparable to Fear Ward and no regen edge like Human Spirit, so it sits last for endgame healing. Pick it if you like the aesthetic and plan to mostly quest, dungeon and PvP.

Does the best race change in Season of Discovery or TBC Classic?
