The fastest TBC Engineering route is to craft blasting powders, tubes and bombs from 1 to 300: Rough Blasting Powder, Copper Tube, Bronze Tube, Whirring Bronze Gizmo, Iron Grenade, Unstable Trigger, Mithril Casing and Mithril Gyro-Shot. In Outland, make Fel Iron Bombs, Adamantite Grenades and goggle parts, then finish 370-375 by crafting a pair of class goggles.
Every recipe below is taken from the TBC Anniversary client's own data. Skill numbers show when a recipe stops being yellow (a guaranteed point or close to it) and when it turns grey (no points at all). Stop every step before the grey number.
Engineering 1-375 route by skill
| Skill | Craft | Notes |
| 1-30 | Rough Blasting Powder | Turns grey at 40. Keep the extras. |
| 30-50 | Rough Dynamite | 2 powder + 1 Linen Cloth |
| 50-60 | Handful of Copper Bolts | Bank these. Bombs and modulators use them. |
| 60-80 | Rough Copper Bomb | Grey at 90 |
| 80-95 | Copper Tube | Needs Weak Flux |
| 95-105 | Copper Modulator | Keep a couple for later |
| 105-125 | Bronze Tube | Yellow until 130 |
| 125-135 | Heavy Blasting Powder | Stockpile it for later bombs |
| 135-150 | Whirring Bronze Gizmo | 2 Bronze Bar + 1 Wool Cloth |
| 150-170 | Bronze Framework | Yellow until 170 |
| 170-175 | Gyrochronatom | Needs a Gold Power Core |
| 175-185 | Solid Blasting Powder | You will need plenty of it later |
| 185-200 | Iron Grenade | Yellow until 195 |
| 200-215 | Unstable Trigger | Keep the spares |
| 215-235 | Mithril Casing | 3 Mithril Bar each |
| 235-245 | Hi-Explosive Bomb | Uses your casings and triggers |
| 245-270 | Mithril Gyro-Shot | Yellow until 265, green after that |
| 270-285 | Salt Shaker | Needs Thorium Bars and 4 Unstable Triggers |
| 285-300 | Dimensional Ripper - Everlook or Ultrasafe Transporter - Gadgetzan | Yellow until 295. Pricey parts. |
| 300-310 | Elemental Blasting Powder, Fel Iron Casing, Handful of Fel Iron Bolts | Make extras of all three for the steps below |
| 310-320 | Fel Iron Shells | Yellow until 320 |
| 320-335 | Fel Iron Bomb | Casing + 2 bolts + powder |
| 335-350 | Adamantite Grenade | Yellow until 345 |
| 350-370 | Hardened Adamantite Tube, Felsteel Stabilizer, Khorium Power Core | Yellow until 360. They are also the goggle parts. |
| 370-375 | Your class goggles | Yellow at 370 |
What are the most expensive brackets?
The two costly stretches are 270-300 and 350-375. At 270-300, Thorium Bars, Truesilver Transformers and the teleporter reagents add up fast. At 350-375, Felsteel, Khorium and Primal Nether are the expensive parts. At 360 the goggle parts turn green, so each craft only might give a point. Budget for some extra Felsteel Stabilizers and Khorium Power Cores. You need them for the goggles anyway.
Which goggles should I make at 370?
Pick the pair that fits your role. Deathblow X11 Goggles, Gadgetstorm Goggles, Furious Gizmatic Goggles, Justicebringer 2000 Specs, Living Replicator Specs, Magnified Moon Specs and Destruction Holo-gogs all share the same base: 6 Heavy Knothide Leather, 1 Khorium Power Core, 2 Hardened Adamantite Tubes, 4 Felsteel Stabilizers and 1 Primal Nether, plus 2 gems that depend on the pair. They are yellow at 370, so a single craft is not guaranteed to give a point. Plan on making more than five crafts to reach 375.
Should I pair Engineering with Mining?
Yes, if you are leveling on a budget. Almost every step above uses bars or stones: copper, bronze, mithril, fel iron and adamantite. Mining your own ore cuts the cost far more than any route change does.
Can I skip the old-world brackets?
No. Outland recipes start around 300, so you still need to reach that point in Azeroth. Keep the parts you make on the way there, like tubes, casings, triggers and powders. Several later recipes use them, which saves you from crafting them twice.
