No — WoW: Forever does not allow Horde and Alliance to group together. Blizzard's Deep Dive panel at BlizzCon 2026 confirmed that factions stay separate, and that there is no cross-ruleset grouping either. Forever is realmless: instead of picking a server you choose a ruleset (Normal, PvP, Roleplaying, and Hardcore after launch), and you group only with your own faction inside that ruleset.

Quick facts on grouping in WoW: Forever

  • Cross-faction grouping: not available. Horde plays with Horde, Alliance with Alliance, in dungeons, raids and questing.
  • Cross-ruleset grouping: not available. A character on the PvP ruleset cannot party with one on Normal or Roleplaying.
  • No realms: there is no server list. Each ruleset is one large ecosystem of players, so "which realm do my friends play on" is replaced by "which ruleset and which faction".
  • Language preference: you set a preferred language and are matched with players who share it.
  • Skyborne is not neutral: the new elven race has a Horde branch (Windshaper) and an Alliance branch (High Order). Rolling Skyborne does not let you cross the faction line.
  • Hardcore: an enclosed ruleset arriving after launch. A dead Hardcore character can move to another ruleset (PvP included), but nothing flows into Hardcore.
  • Faction balance on PvP: the PvP ruleset gets Horde/Alliance balance systems in the style of Season of Discovery. Exact mechanics were not published.

How do I make sure I can play with my friends in Forever?

Agree on two things before anyone creates a character: the faction and the ruleset. Both are hard boundaries. Region also matters — names are unique per region, and Blizzard has not published the region list or how many ecosystems each ruleset contains, so treat region as a third thing to coordinate rather than assume.

Early Name Reservation runs October 27 to November 3, 2026 with any upgrade pack (up to three characters), so your group can lock in matching choices a week before the November 4 launch. Invite-A-Friend codes (emailed from October 20) let a friend play November 4–11 without a subscription, which is a cheap way to test whether your group actually enjoys the same ruleset.

Is there any cross-faction play at all — dungeons, raids, battlegrounds?

Not for cooperative play. Blizzard's wording was simply that factions stay separate, with no carve-out for dungeons, the two launch raids (Barrow Deeps at 10 players, Hyjal Summit at 20) or the Onyxia's Lair 40-player raid arriving December 9. On the PvP ruleset the factions of course meet as opponents in the open world, in the returning original battlegrounds and in the new 15v15 Darkspear Islands, but that is fighting, not grouping.

If Blizzard changes this later it would show up in a patch, since Forever adds content through patches rather than expansions. As of September 14, 2026, nothing of the sort is on the published roadmap.

Can I switch ruleset later if my friends chose differently?

Blizzard published only one transfer path: a Hardcore character that dies can move to another ruleset. No transfer between Normal, PvP and Roleplaying was announced, so do not count on fixing a wrong pick after the fact. Collections and Legacy Points are account-wide across rulesets (Hardcore excepted), so rerolling on the right ruleset is less painful than it sounds — your perks come with you, only the character does not.

Does "Classic Plus cross faction" mean anything different?

No. "Classic Plus" and "Classic+" are community shorthand for WoW: Forever, and earlier leaks or wishlist posts are not a source. The only official statement on the topic is the BlizzCon 2026 Deep Dive: separate factions, separate rulesets, realmless play. Any claim that Classic Plus adds Horde-Alliance parties comes from speculation, not from Blizzard.

If your group is split across factions and someone has to reroll to join the others, PewPewShop's vetted human players can take the sting out of it — Forever leveling 1–30 starts from EUR 13, and the Launch-Ready Pack (1–60, pre-raid gear and 500 gold) from EUR 219, all pre-orders until November 4 and coaching or play-together formats if you would rather learn the new dungeons yourself.
