No — Skyborne cannot be Priests in World of Warcraft: Forever, at least per everything Blizzard has published since BlizzCon 2026. The new elven race can play Warrior, Hunter, Rogue and Druid on both factions; Horde Skyborne (Windshaper) add Shaman, and Alliance Skyborne (High Order) add Mage. Priest, Paladin and Warlock are not on the Skyborne list.
Skyborne class list at a glance
| Class | Windshaper (Horde) | High Order (Alliance) |
| Warrior | Yes | Yes |
| Hunter | Yes | Yes |
| Rogue | Yes | Yes |
| Druid | Yes (sky-blue forms) | Yes (sky-blue forms) |
| Shaman | Yes | No |
| Mage | No | Yes |
| Priest | No | No |
| Paladin | No | No |
| Warlock | No | No |
- Five classes per faction, six across the whole race. The Shaman/Mage split is the only difference between the two Skyborne groups.
- Skyborne are not a neutral race. You pick Windshaper (Horde) or High Order (Alliance) at character creation, and that choice locks in your fifth class option.
- The race needs the Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher and starts on Zephras Isle, a floating 1–12 zone. Forever itself launches November 4, 2026; the beta has been live since September 17 with Skyborne playable from week one.
- Blizzard's panel said "nothing is off the table" for future additions, so the list can grow in a later patch. Right now, though, no Skyborne Priest has been announced.
Why can't Skyborne be Priests or Paladins?
Blizzard has not given a lore reason in the material published so far, so anything beyond the class table is guesswork. What we do know from the live Q&A recaps: the Skyborne live in the Skywall and lean on elemental magic because they have no Sunwell. That fits a Shaman and a Druid far better than a Light-wielding Priest, and it lines up with their racials — Elemental Insight (+5% damage to Elementals) and Wind Blessed (+1% haste).
If you want a caster-healer on this race, Druid is your route on either faction, and Horde Skyborne can go Restoration Shaman. Alliance Skyborne who want pure ranged casting get Mage instead.
What are the Skyborne racials, and which class uses them best?
Every Skyborne gets Walk on Air (glide downward for 10 seconds), Wind Blessed (+1% haste) and Elemental Insight (+5% damage to Elementals). High Order Alliance add Read Ley Line (+100% health and mana regeneration); Windshaper Horde add Skysight (+10% run speed).
Haste is class-agnostic, so nobody loses out. Read Ley Line is the standout for Alliance casters and Druids who drink between pulls, while Skysight is a small but permanent edge for Horde Rogues, Hunters and Warriors covering ground in the open world. Elemental Insight matters most where Elementals are common — worth remembering once Mount Hyjal and the raids open on December 9.
Which race should I pick for a Priest in WoW: Forever?
Forever launches with the Classic class roster, and Priest stays there — just not on the Skyborne. Blizzard confirmed six new race/class combos for launch: Gnome Priest, Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock and Undead (Forsaken) Paladin. So the new toy for Priest players is the Gnome, with its reworked Expansive Mind (raises maximum resource) and the new Eureka! racial (+10% damage/healing on the next three spells, cheaper casts). The existing Priest races from the original game remain available. Blizzard has not published Priest class changes, so treat any "Forever Priest rework" list you see elsewhere with caution.
Is a Skyborne Druid or Shaman a good first character?
Yes, if you like the aesthetic and want the new zone. Zephras Isle covers levels 1–12 with Skywall-inspired architecture, then you merge into the normal Kalimdor or Eastern Kingdoms flow. Druids get unique sky-blue forms nobody else has. One honest caveat: Forever has no level scaling and no flying, so a Skyborne character follows the same 1–60 grind as everyone else after leaving the island — plan on it, don't expect a shortcut.
If you would rather have a vetted human pro get the early grind out of the way, PewPewShop covers the Skyborne Start on Zephras Isle 1–12 from EUR 15, and full WoW: Forever power leveling 1–60 from EUR 25, with beta-level runs starting within 24 hours and launch runs queued for November 4. Play-together and coaching options exist for anyone who wants to learn the new dungeons rather than skip them.
