A safe pace is level 30 by mid-November, 45 by late November and 60 by December 5. These dates are our planning targets, not Blizzard numbers. The later levels need far more XP, so a date that looks generous at 30 gets tight in the 50s.

| Target level | Be there by | Main content on the way |
|---|---|---|
| 30 | November 15 | Starting zones, Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, Excavation Site, City of Dalaran |
| 45 | November 27 | Riverglades with 150+ quests, The Drowned City, Krol'dok Stronghold |
| 60 | December 5 | Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold, Shaper's Terrace, Mount Hyjal |
Those dates leave four days of spare time before the unlock. Use them for gear and attunement quests, or as a buffer if real life gets in the way.
How many hours a day do you need to hit 60?
Nobody has a verified daily number for Forever yet, because Blizzard published none and public testing stopped at level 30. The practical method is to check /played when you reach 30, then assume the next 30 levels will take noticeably longer.
Compare your date with the table above. If you reach 30 around November 15 with normal evenings and a weekend or two, you are on course. If you reach it a week later, you need more hours or a change of plan.
Are quests or dungeons faster for catching up?
Questing is still the safest default, with dungeons used for the levels where a group is ready. Blizzard raised creature XP in dungeons by about 20% during the beta and cut the extra XP from dungeon quests by 50%. Josh Greenfield said that with perfect play, dungeon leveling should come very close to optimal questing speed.
The word "perfect" carries that sentence. A smooth group with a known tank matches questing, while a slow pickup group with wipes loses to it. Forever will probably have no dungeon maps either, per Blizzard's podcast, so the first run of a new dungeon tends to be slower.

The fastest catch-up is to cut downtime, not to chase one perfect route. Group up for drop quests, since Forever spreads quest items more evenly among party members. Take the bag and profession stops in one trip, and log off at an inn or a camp so you return with rested XP.
Food matters too. Well Fed buffs add +5% experience on foods that carry the bonus, though on the beta not every food had it yet. Camping can also add rested XP through a Leatherworking campsite object, up to 5% of a level.
Late starters should expect one quirk. Blizzard made respawns fastest in starting zones for launch crowds and plans to slow low-level zones back to typical rates after the surge settles.
What do you lose if you miss December 9?
Missing the unlock day costs you early raid lockouts, not the raids themselves. All three raids are currently planned to reset weekly, so a player who reaches 60 a week late joins the next reset. The real risk is social: a guild can fill its 10-player and 20-player spots while you are still in the 50s.
If your guild has a set raid team, tell the officers your level and date now. Most groups would rather plan around one honest date than discover the gap on the night.
Should you start the Onyxia attunement before 60?
Yes, because every Onyxia raider must carry the Drakefire Amulet, and it comes from a long faction questline. The chain has elite quests and trips into Blackrock Depths and Blackrock Spire, and it ends with General Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire. Blizzard's raid overview also says to build fire resistance before entering.
Nothing about attunements has been published for Barrow Deeps or Hyjal Summit, so treat those as unknown. Blizzard also plans no big tuning before the raids open, bugs and serious outliers aside, so the pace you see now should hold.
Ways to close the gap
Pick by where you are stuck. The 30–45 stretch starts from from 60 EUR, the final 45–60 from from 62 EUR, and hourly help from from 12 EUR per hour.
If your schedule will not stretch that far, PewPewShop can help. Our vetted human players offer rent-a-pro leveling and coaching, orders start within 24 hours, and boosters quote 2–3 weeks for a full 1–60. That means a full route ordered by about November 18 still leaves that window before the raids open.
Frequently asked questions
When do raids open in WoW: Forever?
Raids unlock on December 9, 2026, per Blizzard's roadmap. Barrow Deeps for 10 players, Hyjal Summit for 20 and the 40-player Onyxia's Lair open together. All three are level 60 raids and are currently planned to reset weekly. Blizzard has not published the exact hour of the unlock.
How long does it take to reach level 60 in WoW: Forever?
Blizzard has not published a playtime figure, and the beta stopped at level 30, so no reliable benchmark exists yet. XP needed per level matches Classic. Professional boosters quote 2–3 weeks for a full 1–60, while a regular player's time depends on daily hours and how much downtime they cut.
Do you need to be level 60 for the December 9 raids?
Yes. Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair are all listed as level 60 raids. Onyxia also requires every raid member to carry the Drakefire Amulet from a faction attunement questline. Attunements for Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit have not been published, so treat that as unknown.
Is it too late to start WoW: Forever for the raids?
No. The game launched on November 4, so a player starting in the first days still has about five weeks. Starting later shortens the margin, but raids are planned to reset weekly, so reaching 60 after December 9 means joining a later reset, not losing access to that content.
Is dungeon leveling faster than questing in WoW: Forever?
They are close when played well. Blizzard raised dungeon creature XP by about 20% and cut bonus XP from dungeon quests by 50%. Josh Greenfield said perfect play should land very near optimal questing speed. Slower groups usually fall behind, and Blizzard says grinding dungeons should not be the optimal way to play.
