WoW: Forever gold budget at a glance

Class training is the only cost Blizzard has confirmed for the live game, and riding is the biggest single bill. The vendor and riding figures below come from the beta, so treat them as a guide.

Two class notes matter here. Warlock training was reduced by the expected cost of pet Grimoires, so budget those separately. Priest race-specific abilities sit outside the shared total.

How much gold do you need in the first week of WoW: Forever?

Your first-week budget is simply your next trainer visit, plus repairs. Blizzard has published the 1–60 total but no per-level split, so an exact first-week figure does not exist yet.

Trainer bills in Classic grow with level, and most players should expect the same shape here. Forever launched on November 4, so auction house prices are still days old and moving fast. Do not plan around them yet.

How much does riding cost in WoW: Forever?

Riding training cost 100 or 1,000 gold depending on the level, according to a developer interview during the beta. The price of the mount moved into training, so the first mount comes free once you learn the skill.

The interview did not name the riding levels, so we will not guess them. If you can only afford one big purchase, make it riding. Most other late spending can wait.

How much gold do you need for raids on December 9?

No official raid budget exists, but raiders should keep a reserve beyond the 1,300 gold for training and riding. Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair all unlock on December 9.

Onyxia's Lair is the one to plan for, since Blizzard tells raiders to build fire resistance first. Every raider also needs the Drakefire Amulet from a long attunement questline. That costs time more than gold, though repair bills add up across those dungeon trips.

On the beta, Mister Graphed at Powderfuse Port sold Black Lotus at 50 gold with no purchase limit. Wowhead reads that as a cap on price gouging, which is its reading and not a Blizzard statement. Reach the port by boat from Steamwheedle Port in Tanaris.

Is gold easier to earn in Forever than in Classic?

Yes, according to Blizzard, which told 4Gamers that players will earn significantly more gold in Forever than in original Classic. Developers also mentioned more gold at endgame from regular activities, with a possible gold reward for taking part in existing systems. That cadence is undecided.

Vendor-flipping is a weak plan, because Blizzard cut the sell value of many crafted items during the beta. Gathering and selling on the auction house is the more natural route, and Blizzard calls auction house buying a core part of the game. GDKP raids are banned on North America and Europe rulesets, so do not count on that gold.

Which optional costs can you skip?

Skip the Black Market Auction House and Gift of Galloping until riding is paid for. On the beta, the Black Market's gear started at 100 gold or more, which is a poor deal while your gear still changes every few levels.

Respecs also deserve restraint. Blizzard says they should not be cheap, with a price that climbs quickly and resets once per week. Dual specialization unlocks at level 40, and its gold cost has not been published.

If you would rather spend your hours playing than farming, PewPewShop's vetted human players can help through coaching, play-together sessions and progression help, with no bots or cheats. Leveling 1–30 runs from 42 EUR and a dungeon run is from 23 EUR. Forever gold is listed at from 30 EUR for EU and from 30 EUR for US, so read the warning above first and make that call with open eyes.

Frequently asked questions

How much does class training cost in WoW: Forever?

Blizzard's launch development notes put the total for training class abilities from level 1 to 60 at between 206 and 207 gold for every class. Priest race-specific abilities are the exception, and Warlock costs were reduced by the expected cost of pet Grimoires, so Warlocks should budget for those separately.

Do you have to buy a mount in WoW: Forever?

You do not pay separately for your first mount. Forever uses the Burning Crusade approach, where the cost moves into riding training and a mount is granted when you learn the skill. A developer interview during the beta put training at 100 or 1,000 gold depending on the level.

Can you get banned for buying gold in WoW: Forever?

Yes. Blizzard says any account found to have generated, sold, bought or received illicit gold is subject to gold removal, suspension or permanent closure. It reported closing over 2,100 accounts that bought gold on the beta, and suspected accounts can receive a Temporary Economy Hold on trade, mail and the Auction House.

Are GDKP raids allowed in WoW: Forever?

No, not in North America or Europe. Blizzard told 4Gamers the ban covers those regions, citing protection of social play, players with fewer resources being priced out, and the way GDKP encourages gold buying. Blizzard said other regions are not affected, so check local rules if you play elsewhere.

How much does a respec cost in WoW: Forever?

Blizzard has not published live respec prices. It told TechRadar that respecs should not be cheap, with a price that climbs quickly and resets once per week. The very low respec price on the beta was temporary and does not apply to the live game. Changing talents requires a class trainer in a major city.
