Quick facts before you reroll
- Delves scale by tier: higher tiers mean tougher enemies and better rewards, with the hardest tiers sitting at the top of the ladder (Tier 11 at the high end).
- Death matters more than damage. Delves cut you off after a limited number of deaths, so a slow clear beats a fast wipe.
- Brann Bronzebeard can be set to a role. Put him on healing if your spec has no self-sustain, or on damage if you are a tank.
- Brann's level and your item level both move the needle harder than a spec swap at low and mid tiers.
- Defensive trinkets, healing potions and a personal immunity carry more weight here than any single-target rotation optimization.
Does your class actually matter in Delves?
Less than the internet suggests, up to a point. Through the lower and middle tiers, almost every spec clears with reasonable gear and a leveled Brann. Class starts to matter at the top tiers, where boss damage stops being survivable through raw item level and you need either a real defensive kit or a self-heal you can press on demand.
If you are already deep into a character, gearing that character will beat leveling a tank from scratch nearly every time.
What is the best class for solo Tier 11 Delves?
Blood Death Knight is the classic answer, and it holds up: constant self-healing, big absorbs, and damage that scales off taking hits. Vengeance Demon Hunter and Protection Paladin are right there with it. All three trade some clear speed for the ability to stand in things that delete other specs.
If you want speed instead of safety, Retribution Paladin and Beast Mastery Hunter are the best compromise — real self-healing, plus a pet or bubble to buy time.
How does Brann change the tier list?
Brann flattens it. A well-leveled Brann on healing turns most C-tier casters into perfectly workable delvers, because the thing they lack is exactly what he supplies. Tanks usually swap him to damage, since they do not need the throughput and want the clear to end sooner.
Which classes struggle most in Delves?
Mage specs and Outlaw Rogue feel worst, purely because their survival is built on avoidance rather than sustain. One bad pull without Ice Block or Cloak available and the run is in trouble. They are still fully capable — they just have a thinner margin for error than a Guardian Druid does.
