Blizzard has not published anything about a day/night cycle or a "set it to daytime" toggle for WoW: Forever. The only confirmed lighting-related setting is an HD/SD graphics switch for characters and the world. Forever is built on the original game, where lighting follows the realm clock in real time with no in-client override — so expect that unless Blizzard says otherwise.

- Forever is a third experience alongside Modern and Classic, built by the Classic team and set in WoW's first year. The world engine is the same lineage, so the safe assumption is the original real-time cycle: the sky, shadows and ambient light shift as the realm's local clock moves from morning to night.
- In the original game and its Classic re-releases there is no menu setting that freezes the world at noon. Players who wanted brighter nights turned up gamma or used third-party tweaks, neither of which Blizzard supports.
- The demo at BlizzCon ran on show-floor machines; nobody outside Blizzard has had a client long enough to watch a full cycle, and no beta footage exists yet.
Why do people search "wow forever set to day time"?
Because night in the original game is genuinely dark in some zones — Duskwood, Tirisfal, parts of Ashenvale — and the graphics upgrade in Forever raised hopes that Blizzard would finally add a lighting override. It is a long-running community request, not an announced feature. As of today it belongs in the "ask Blizzard" pile, not the patch notes.
The best place to push for it is the live WoW Q&A on September 17, 2026 at 18:00 BST (10:00 PDT) on the official Warcraft Twitch and YouTube channels, where the team answers forum-submitted questions about Forever and Midnight. Blizzard also opened an official WoW: Forever forum category, which is where suggestions like this get read.
Does the HD/SD toggle change how bright the world looks?
Blizzard confirmed HD and SD graphics can be switched for both characters and the world, so you can play with modern-looking textures or the original 2004 style. Whether the HD mode reworks lighting, shadows or night brightness has not been stated. Treat it as a texture and model choice until beta testers report otherwise.
Will night be darker on Zephras Isle or Mount Hyjal?
Unknown. Zephras Isle is a floating 1–12 start zone with Skywall-inspired architecture and Mount Hyjal is the new endgame zone covering Darkwhisper Gorge and the aftermath of Archimonde's defeat. Blizzard has described their layout and story, not their lighting. Given the source material — a mountaintop and an island in the sky — bright skies would fit, but that is a guess, not a fact.
Can I change the in-game time for quests or events?
No. In the original game the world clock is tied to the realm's time zone and cannot be set by the player. Anything that depends on time of day runs on that clock. Forever has not announced any change to this, and no realm regions or time zones have been published yet, so the exact hour night falls on your server is unknown until realm lists go up.
