No — WoW: Forever has no flying mounts, and Blizzard lists that as a core system rule next to "no level scaling", not a launch-day gap. You travel the way the original game did: ground mounts, flight-master routes, boats and zeppelins, with the level cap fixed at 60 for good. The riding skill is being updated for Forever, but the new levels and costs have not been published.

Quick facts: travel in WoW: Forever

  • Flying mounts: none, by design. Nothing announced for later patches either.
  • Ground mounts: the standard way to move. The Skyborne Heroic Pack (€29.99 on the EU Battle.net shop) includes the Cerulean Prideclaw ground mount.
  • Riding skill: Blizzard says it is updated for Forever. Exact training levels, gold costs and speed tiers are not public as of September 12, 2026.
  • Level scaling: none. Zones keep fixed level bands, so travel routes matter the way they did in 2004.
  • New ground to cover: Zephras Isle (Skyborne start, 1–12), the Riverglades (Eastern Kingdoms, 30–45, with a neutral goblin port) and Mount Hyjal (endgame).
  • Launch: November 4, 2026, 3:00 p.m. PST, included with a normal WoW subscription or Game Time.

Can the Skyborne race fly?

Not on mounts, no. The name and the floating starting island suggest otherwise, but the "no flying mounts" rule applies to everyone, Skyborne included. What they do get is a fresh 1–12 experience on Zephras Isle and unique sky-blue druid forms for Skyborne druids. Whether any racial ability involves gliding or vertical movement has not been shown, so treat that as unknown rather than assumed.

One practical note: the Skyborne race requires the Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher. A free subscriber can play Forever from day one, just not as a Skyborne.

What does the updated riding skill change?

Blizzard confirmed riding is "updated" and stopped there. In original Classic the first mount arrived at level 40 and the epic mount at 60, and the gold cost was one of the biggest hurdles in the leveling curve. Forever may move those thresholds, change prices, or add something new — none of that has been published. What is certain is that with an endless level 60 and new patches instead of expansions, riding will remain a ground-speed system, not a step toward flight.

If you are planning gold reserves for launch, budget for a mount the old-fashioned way and adjust once Blizzard posts the numbers. Do not rely on any figure a guide gives you before then.

Will flying be added in a later patch?

Nothing on the roadmap says so. Spring 2027 brings two raids, two dungeons, a new legendary questline and a PvP refresh; Summer 2027 adds a revamped iconic raid, another new raid, more world content, professions and Legacy updates. Flying appears nowhere in either list, and the whole pitch of Forever is a world you cross on foot and by ground mount. Assume it stays that way.

How do you get around without flying at level 60?

Flight masters, boats, zeppelins and your ground mount. Mount Hyjal is a new endgame zone and one of the three entrances to the Barrow Deeps raid sits there, so expect to learn a route to it once raids unlock on December 9, 2026. The Riverglades' goblin port is neutral, which hints at a new sea link, though Blizzard has not published the connections. Camping — the new system where players build campsites others can join — may soften long trips with tradeskill buffs, but its details are also still unannounced.

If the mount grind is the part you would rather skip, PewPewShop's vetted human players can help: the Forever Riding Skill & Mount service starts from EUR 29, and full WoW: Forever Power Leveling 1–60 starts from EUR 25 as a pre-order until November 4. Coaching and play-together options are available for players who want to learn the routes themselves.
