Yes, World of Warcraft: Midnight has a built-in Damage Meter. It is tracked server-side and you can have up to three windows open at once. It shows Damage Done, DPS, Damage Taken, Avoidable Damage Taken, Healing Done, HPS, Interrupts and Dispels. It came with Blizzard's addon changes, along with a refined Cooldown Manager and built-in Boss Warnings, so a fresh install can handle much of what used to need addons.
Quick facts: Midnight's built-in combat tools
| Damage Meter | Tracked server-side, up to 3 windows at once |
| Meter stats | Damage Done, DPS, Damage Taken, Avoidable Damage Taken, Healing Done, HPS, Interrupts, Dispels |

| Cooldown Manager | A refined built-in cooldown display |

| Why | Blizzard's rule that addons should no longer give a competitive advantage in combat |
Why Blizzard built these into the game
Blizzard announced the change in its addon posts in October and November 2025. Addons can still change how the interface looks: unit and raid frames, nameplates, cast bars, action bars, fonts, positions and colors. They can still show buffs and debuffs. What they can no longer do is read combat state to make decisions. That means checking whether a debuff is active, tracking cooldown states, or using real-time combat data for logic. Class secondary resources such as Runes and Holy Power can still be read in full. The change removes rotation helpers and combat automation. Blizzard added built-in tools to cover the parts players depended on most.
Is the built-in damage meter accurate?
The game server tracks the numbers, so the meter doesn't depend on what your own client happened to see. The Avoidable Damage Taken and Interrupts views are the most useful for dungeon groups. They show who stood in the bad and who kicked the casts, not just who did the most damage. Open two or three windows to see damage, healing and interrupts side by side.
What do Boss Warnings show?
Boss Warnings has two parts. The Boss Timeline shows the boss abilities coming up next. The text alerts come in three levels, Minor, Medium and Critical, so the warnings that can kill you are the easiest to spot. Turn on Combat Audio Alerts too if you want the warnings spoken through text-to-speech.
What does the Cooldown Manager do?
It shows your own cooldowns in a built-in display. Third-party addons can no longer read cooldown states for logic in combat, so this is now the dependable way to track them. If you're still learning a spec, Assisted Highlight marks a suggested next button. The One-Button Rotation option is an accessibility setting that goes a step further and handles the rotation from a single button.
Do Details!, DBM or WeakAuras still work?
Blizzard's posts don't name any addons, so we can't confirm the status of any specific one. The rule is about what addons do: changing the look is allowed, making decisions from combat data is not. Check the addon's CurseForge or Wago page for a Midnight version before you rely on it. Running the built-in meter and Boss Warnings next to it costs nothing.
If you'd rather learn Season 2 dungeons with an experienced player than from a meter, PewPewShop's vetted human players offer Mythic+ coaching and play-together runs (no bots, no cheats). A Mythic+ Dungeon Boost starts from EUR 24.
