The first Keystone Master mount was the Awakened Mindborer, added in Battle for Azeroth Season 4 (2020) for timing every dungeon of that season at +15. Today the reward works differently: reach 2000 Mythic+ rating in the current season, Midnight Season 2, and you earn Breath of Blight. Each season's mount vanishes for good once that season ends.

Keystone Master quick facts (Midnight Season 2)

  • Requirement: 2000 Mythic+ rating on one character. Rating is the sum of your best run in each of the season's 8 dungeons.
  • Mount: Breath of Blight. Account-wide once earned.
  • The 8 dungeons: Altar of Fangs, Den of Nalorakk, Kings' Rest, Murder Row, Ruby Life Pools, Temple of Sethraliss, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena.
  • Simplest route: time a +7 in all eight. A timed +7 is worth 260 points, so eight of them land you at 2080 — over the line with room to spare. Timing every dungeon at +6 gets you only 1840, so a single missing dungeon or one level short is the usual reason people stall at 1900-something.
  • Season start: 18 August 2026. The mount is only obtainable while Season 2 is live.
  • Nothing to buy in-game: the achievement Keystone Master: Season Two hands you the mount the moment your rating ticks past 2000.

How the Keystone Master mount changed over the years

  • Battle for Azeroth Season 4: Awakened Mindborer — the original. Earned by timing all season dungeons at +15.
  • Shadowlands Season 1: Sintouched Deathwalker, same +15-in-every-dungeon rule.
  • Shadowlands Season 2 onward: the Mythic+ rating system arrived and Keystone Master became a flat 2000-rating milestone. The Deathwalker line continued through Shadowlands, the Armoredon mounts covered Dragonflight, and every season since has shipped its own recolor.
  • Midnight Season 2: Breath of Blight at 2000 rating, with Breath of Ruin above it at 3000 for Keystone Legend.

Do I still need to time a +15 for Keystone Master?

No. The +15 rule died with Shadowlands Season 1. Since then the only thing that matters is 2000 total rating, however you assemble it. Timed +7s in all eight dungeons is the cleanest path; depleted runs still award some points but with a hard cap, so untimed +10s do not rescue a missing dungeon.

Rating also rewards speed: finishing a key well under the timer adds up to 15 bonus points per run. Beating the clock comfortably in a few easy dungeons can cover you when one run comes in exactly on time.

Is the Keystone Master mount account-wide, and can I get last season's?

Once earned, the mount unlocks for every character on your account. But it is strictly seasonal: when Midnight Season 2 closes, Breath of Blight is removed from the pool, exactly like the Awakened Mindborer and every mount after it. There is no way to go back for a past season's Keystone Master mount, which is why players who miss the deadline by a week or two tend to regret it.

What is the difference between Keystone Master, Hero and Legend?

They are rating milestones stacked on the same ladder: Keystone Conqueror at 1500, Keystone Master at 2000 (mount), Keystone Hero at 2500, Keystone Legend at 3000 (the second mount, Breath of Ruin), then Keystone Myth at 3400. Dungeon teleports are a separate track — they come from timing a +10 in each dungeon, not from any rating number.

How long does the first Keystone Master take?

With a steady group and a character at seasonal ilvl, most players get from zero to 2000 in two to four weeks of a couple of evenings each. The slow part is rarely the difficulty — it is finding eight dungeons' worth of groups at the right level, because pug leaders filter by rating and a fresh character starts with none. Pick your weakest dungeon each session and push that one; farming a single comfortable dungeon to +15 wastes hours for a handful of points.

If you would rather have that grind handled, PewPewShop's Keystone Master Boost (2000 rating and Breath of Blight, from EUR 139.99) pairs you with vetted human players — no bots, no cheats — and the Mythic+ Rating Boost (from EUR 45) covers whatever gap is left, in Self-Play or Piloted format.
