Keystone Master and Keystone Legend are two separate seasonal Mythic+ mount rewards: 2000 Mythic+ rating earns the Keystone Master mount, 3000 earns the Keystone Legend mount. In Midnight Season 2 those are Breath of Blight at 2000 and Breath of Ruin at 3000. Both retire when the season ends, so the cutoff is the real deadline, not the difficulty.
| Achievement | Rating needed | Season 2 mount |
| Keystone Master | 2000 | Breath of Blight |
| Keystone Legend | 3000 | Breath of Ruin |
- Both mounts are granted the moment the achievement fires. No drop chance, no loot roll, no weekly lockout.
- Rating is seasonal. It resets when a new season starts, and last season's mounts do not come back.
- Your score is built from your best run in each dungeon in the pool. Timing the key is worth far more than depleting it.
- Untimed runs still award some score, so a failed key is not a wasted key, just an inefficient one.
- Mount collections are account-wide, so once either mount lands, every character on the account can ride it.
- In recent seasons, timing a +10 in a dungeon also unlocks that dungeon's teleport, which is the reward most people chase alongside the mount.
How much harder is 3000 than 2000?
Much harder than the numbers suggest. Reaching 2000 is mostly a volume problem: clear the whole dungeon pool at a moderate key level, time most of them, and the score adds up over a few weeks of pugging.
Getting from 2000 to 3000 is a skill and roster problem. You need a consistent group, clean interrupt and defensive assignments, and repeated timed runs several key levels higher. Most players who stall out do so because pug groups deplete keys faster than they push them.
Can I still get Keystone Master mounts from past seasons?
No. Each season's Keystone Master and Keystone Legend mounts are earnable only while that season is live. Once the season closes, the achievement stops being obtainable and the mount is locked out of the collection permanently.
That is exactly why these mounts hold status. Someone riding an older season's version was there, doing keys, before the cutoff.
Do I need to time every dungeon?
You do not need a perfect record, but timed runs are the efficient path. A depleted key still contributes score; it just contributes less than a timed run at the same level, and you have to replace it later with a better run in that dungeon anyway.
The practical route to 2000 is simple: get one solid timed run in every dungeon in the pool, then push the ones where your score is lowest.
Does Mythic+ rating decay during the season?
Rating does not tick down over time. It reflects your best runs, so a bad week costs you nothing except progress you did not make. The only reset that matters is the season rollover.
Because of that, spreading the grind across the season works fine. Just do not leave 3000 for the final two weeks.
