The Skyborne race costs €29.99 on the EU Battle.net shop, sold as the Skyborne Heroic Pack — the cheapest edition that unlocks it for World of Warcraft: Forever. The race is not part of a plain subscription: you need the Heroic Pack or a higher edition (Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection). Forever itself is free with active game time; only the race and its extras are paid.

- The €29.99 figure is the EU Battle.net price seen on September 12, 2026. Other regions are priced in their own currency, so check your local shop.
- Forever launches November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST worldwide. Any of the three packs is an upgrade on top of a normal subscription, not a separate game purchase.
- Any pack also lets you reserve names and create up to three characters early, October 27 – November 3, 2026, first come first served.
Is Skyborne paid, or can you unlock it in-game?
As announced, it is paid. Blizzard has tied the Skyborne race to the Heroic Pack or higher, and no in-game unlock, quest chain or reputation route has been published. Whether a free path appears later is unknown, so plan on the pack if you want to roll one at launch.
Everything else in Forever — the three new zones, nine dungeons, two raids, revamped classes and the new Forsaken Paladin and Dwarf Shaman combos — comes with a regular subscription. The paywall is specifically the race, its Zephras Isle starting experience and the cosmetic bundle around it.
What does the Skyborne Heroic Pack actually add?
Beyond the race, the Heroic Pack gives you the Zephras Isle 1–12 start (a floating island that serves as the Skyborne home zone), early name reservation, the Cerulean Prideclaw ground mount, a set of cosmetics and one Invite-A-Friend Launch Code. That code lets a friend play November 4–11 without a subscription; codes go out by email from October 20.
If you want the beta (September 17 – October 21, capped at level 30), the Heroic Pack is not enough — beta access requires the Epic Pack or the Collection. Those higher editions also bump the invite codes to three.
What can a Skyborne character be?
Skyborne are an elven race and they are not neutral: you pick Windshaper (Horde) or High Order (Alliance) at creation. Every Skyborne can be a Warrior, Hunter, Rogue or Druid, and Skyborne Druids get unique sky-blue shapeshift forms. Horde Skyborne additionally unlock Shaman; Alliance Skyborne additionally unlock Mage. Note there are no flying mounts in Forever, so the Prideclaw is ground-only like everything else.
Should you buy the Heroic Pack or wait?
Buy Heroic if you want the race, a reserved name and one launch-week guest pass, and you do not care about beta. Step up to Epic only if beta access, the bundled 30 days of game time or the extra cosmetics matter to you. The Collection is the choice if you also want Warcraft III: Reforged and the housing figurines — and remember it disappears from the shop after January 11, 2027.
If the plan is to level a Skyborne fast once the servers open, PewPewShop is taking Forever pre-orders now: the Skyborne Start (Zephras Isle 1–12) with a vetted human player from EUR 15, and Forever Leveling 1–30 from EUR 13 — play-together and coaching options, no bots, no cheats.
