Keepers of Time reputation in TBC comes almost entirely from the two Caverns of Time dungeons in Tanaris: Old Hillsbrad Foothills and The Black Morass. Unlike most TBC dungeon factions, both dungeons keep giving reputation on Normal all the way to Exalted. Revered unlocks the Key of Time for Heroic mode.
Keepers of Time reputation: quick facts
| Location | Caverns of Time, eastern Tanaris (Kalimdor) |
| Starting standing | Neutral |
| Rep sources | Old Hillsbrad Foothills, The Black Morass, the Caverns of Time quest chain |
| Normal mode | Gives reputation all the way to Exalted |
| Heroic mode | Also gives reputation to Exalted; needs the Key of Time |
| Revered reward | Key of Time (Heroic access). In TBC Anniversary it is a Bind-on-Account item |
| Notable reward | Glyph of the Defender, a tank head enchant |
Fastest route from Neutral to Exalted
- Pick up the Caverns of Time intro quest at the entrance and follow it to the dragons inside. You need it before you can enter the instances.
- Run Old Hillsbrad Foothills first. Finishing it (escorting Thrall out of Durnholde) unlocks The Black Morass, and its quests pay out reputation.
- Do The Black Morass and its quest. It usually gives more reputation per run because every portal wave has trash and bosses.
- Repeat both on normal. Normal runs keep giving reputation all the way to Exalted; The Black Morass is the usual farm.
- Add Heroic at Revered. The Key of Time requires Revered; in TBC Anniversary it is Bind-on-Account, so one character's key covers your alts. Heroic runs give more reputation per run and better loot.
Why did my Keepers of Time rep stop going up?
It shouldn't stop on Normal: unlike Ramparts or Slave Pens, both Caverns of Time dungeons give reputation all the way to Exalted. The quest rewards are one-time, so once the chains are done, every further point comes from dungeon kills.
Do I need Keepers of Time rep for the Mount Hyjal attunement?
The Battle for Mount Hyjal attunement is a separate chain run by the Scale of the Sands, another Caverns of Time faction. It asks for the vials from Lady Vashj and Kael'thas, not for a Keepers of Time standing. Blizzard's announcement says attunements are account-wide in TBC Anniversary, so one character's attunement unlocks Hyjal for every character on the account. Phase 3 opened Hyjal on August 27, 2026.
Which dungeon gives more rep: Old Hillsbrad or Black Morass?
Most players farm The Black Morass because the run is short and constant. You defend Medivh through waves of portals and never have to walk through a long escort. Old Hillsbrad has more travel and an escort that can fail. Running both still helps while you level and while you look for groups.
Is Exalted with Keepers of Time worth it?
For tanks, yes. Glyph of the Defender is one of the better head enchants for them. Other players can stop at Revered once they have the Key of Time. Getting to Exalted takes a lot of Heroic runs, so do it while you farm Heroic badges and gear anyway.
