Outland is not part of World of Warcraft: Forever. Everything Blizzard announced at BlizzCon 2026 — three new zones, nine new dungeons, two new raids and a roadmap through Summer 2027 — sits on Azeroth, in the game's first year, before the Dark Portal ever opens. Forever has no expansions and the level cap stays at 60 permanently, so a Burning Crusade-style Outland launch is simply not on the plan.

What Forever's map actually contains

  • Setting: Blizzard places Forever after the events of Warcraft III: Reforged — Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core. That is years before the Burning Crusade timeline.
  • New zones at launch (November 4, 2026): Zephras Isle (floating Skyborne start, levels 1–12), the Riverglades (Eastern Kingdoms, levels 30–45, 150+ quests, neutral goblin port) and Mount Hyjal (endgame zone with the Hyjal Summit raid entrance).
  • Expanded content: Shen'dralar territory around Dire Maul, Maraudon and Razorfen Downs — all on Kalimdor.
  • Raids: Barrow Deeps (10-player), Hyjal Summit (20-player) and Onyxia's Lair (40-player), all unlocking December 9, 2026. None of them is beyond the Dark Portal.
  • Level cap: 60, described by Blizzard as endless. New content ships as patches, never as expansions.
  • Roadmap: Spring 2027 brings two raids, two dungeons and a new playable area; Summer 2027 brings a revamped iconic raid, a new raid, two dungeons and expanded world content. No Outland, Draenor or Burning Crusade mention anywhere.

One honest caveat: I cannot point you to a Blizzard quote that literally says the words Outland is ruled out. What Blizzard did say at the Deep Dive panel is that nothing is off the table for the future, not even new classes. So the accurate reading is: Outland is not planned, not announced and does not fit the stated design, but Blizzard has left itself room to surprise people years down the line.

Is WoW: Forever the same as Burning Crusade Classic?

No. Burning Crusade Classic was a re-release of the 2007 expansion: level 70, flying, Outland, Blood Elves and Draenei. Forever is a brand-new third version of WoW built by the Classic team, sitting next to Modern and Classic. It keeps the original class roster, adds the Skyborne elves, new class combos like Forsaken Paladin and Dwarf Shaman, and reworks every class and spec. There is no flying and no level scaling.

If what you loved about TBC was new races and fresh dungeons, Forever delivers that on Azeroth instead: Hall of Thanes under Ironforge, City of Dalaran, Drowned City off Stranglethorn, Blackmaw Hold and the level 40–60 trio of Alcaz Prison, Shaper's Terrace and Krol'dok Stronghold.

What is Classic Plus, and is it Forever?

Yes. Classic Plus (or Classic+) is the community shorthand players used for years to describe a vanilla-era game that keeps growing without expansions. Forever is Blizzard's official version of that idea. Older leaks and fan wishlists that put Outland, Ogres or High Elves into Classic Plus were never Blizzard sources; only what was published at BlizzCon 2026 counts.

Will Forever get new continents later?

Blizzard has committed to new playable areas in both Spring 2027 and Summer 2027, but has not named them. Given the setting and the endless level 60 design, expect more of Azeroth — hidden regions like Shen'dralar's territory between Mulgore and Desolace, or islands like Zephras Isle — rather than a whole new planet. Anything more specific is unknown until Blizzard says otherwise.

When can I actually play it?

  1. Beta: September 17 – October 21, 2026, capped at level 30, with the Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection.
  2. Name reservation: October 27 – November 3, up to three characters with any upgrade pack.
  3. Launch: November 4, 2026 at 3 p.m. Pacific, included with a normal WoW subscription — no separate purchase.
  4. Raids: December 9, 2026.
