Keystone Master in Midnight Season 1 means reaching 2,000 Mythic+ rating during that season. Rating is seasonal and resets when the next season starts, so the Season 1 version is only earnable while Season 1 is running. As a rough target, timing every dungeon in the rotation at around +10 puts you in range, and it unlocks that season's Keystone Master mount reward.
Keystone Master at a glance
- Score needed: 2,000 Mythic+ rating in a single season.
- Rough route: time every dungeon in the seasonal pool at somewhere around +10.
- Timed runs only: beating the timer is what pays. A depleted key still gives some score, but nowhere near enough to build 2,000 on.
- Per-dungeon scoring: your rating is the sum of your best run in each dungeon, not a total of everything you've ever run.
- Seasonal: the score wipes between seasons, and the achievement stays tied to the season you earned it in.
- Next tier up: Keystone Legend sits at 3,000 rating.
- Season 2 version: same 2,000 threshold, different seasonal reward — the Season 2 Keystone Master reward is listed as Breath of Blight, and Legend's as Breath of Ruin.
How to get from zero to 2,000
- Gear to the entry point with heroic dungeons, world content and low keys until groups will take you into the +7 to +10 bracket.
- Spread your runs. Because only your best run per dungeon counts, eight different dungeons at +10 beats twenty runs of your favourite one.
- Time everything. Learn the route, skip smart, and treat the timer as the objective rather than the boss kills.
- Re-run your weakest dungeons last. Once you can see your per-dungeon breakdown, the fastest gains come from replacing your two or three lowest scores, not from pushing your best key one level higher.
How long does Keystone Master Season 1 take?
For a player with a stable group and a reasonable item level, it's usually a couple of weeks of a few evenings each — you're clearing eight dungeons and then cleaning up the two that went badly.
Pugging solo takes noticeably longer, mostly because of failed keys and group hunting rather than difficulty. The realistic bottleneck is finding four people who agree on the route.
Keystone Master or Keystone Legend — what's the difference?
Master is 2,000 rating; Legend is 3,000. That gap is much bigger than it looks: the last third of the climb means consistently timing keys well above the +10 range, with far less room for a bad pull.
Does Season 1 Keystone Master carry over to Season 2?
No. Your Mythic+ rating resets at the start of each season, so a Season 1 Keystone Master starts Season 2 from scratch and has to hit 2,000 again for that season's reward.
The achievement you already earned stays on your account and the mount stays in your collection — you just can't earn the Season 1 version once Season 1 has closed.
Do I need to time the key or just finish it?
Time it. Finishing over the timer awards some rating and still upgrades gear, but the score curve is built around timed completions — chained over-time runs will stall you well short of 2,000.
