Priest is a launch class in WoW: Forever, and like every class it gets a full revamp of its specializations and talents, with Blizzard cutting the +1–2% filler talents. Specific Priest spell changes have not been published. The new Skyborne race cannot be a Priest, and no new Priest race combos were announced — the only new combos are Forsaken Paladin and Dwarf Shaman.

Priest in Forever: quick facts

  • Class status: confirmed at launch, November 4, 2026 (3 p.m. Pacific), included with an active subscription.
  • Revamp scope: Blizzard says all classes and all specializations are reworked; talent trees move away from small percentage fillers toward choices that matter. Talent points can start at level 9 with the Legacy perk "Talented" (still 51 max).
  • Priest-specific abilities: not published as of September 12, 2026. Treat any "Forever Priest spell list" you see online as speculation.
  • Races: no new Priest combinations announced. Skyborne (the new elven race) can be Warrior, Hunter, Rogue and Druid, plus Shaman on Horde and Mage on Alliance — Priest is not on that list.
  • Level cap: 60, permanently. New content arrives in patches, not expansions.
  • Endgame for healers and shadow: nine new dungeons at launch; Barrow Deeps (10-player), Hyjal Summit (20-player) and Onyxia's Lair (40-player) open December 9, 2026.

Does Priest get new race options in WoW: Forever?

Not that Blizzard has announced. The two new race-class combos revealed at BlizzCon are Forsaken Paladin and Dwarf Shaman. Priest was not mentioned, and the Skyborne race list excludes it. If you are choosing a Priest race today, plan around the roster you already know from Classic, and watch for beta notes — the beta runs September 17 to October 21, capped at level 30.

One racial change worth noting for casters: Gnome Expansive Mind now raises maximum resource, and the new Gnome racial Eureka! makes the next three spells cheaper and 10% stronger. Gnomes were never Priests in the original game, so this only matters if Blizzard adds the combo — which is currently unknown.

What are the Priest changes in Forever?

The honest answer: the philosophy is known, the numbers are not. Blizzard has confirmed every class gets revamped specs and reworked talents, and it used Paladin as the showcase (a tanking seal, better group healing, a full Retribution suite). No equivalent Priest breakdown has been shown. Holy, Discipline and Shadow have not been described in any Blizzard post we can point to, so whether Shadow becomes a full raid spec or Discipline changes role is unknown until the beta or a class panel says so.

What you can bank on: the +1–2% filler talents that padded Classic trees are going away across all classes, and the account-wide Legacy tree adds non-combat perks (rested XP, cheaper repairs, faster reputation and honor gains) that help every alt, Priest included.

Is Priest a good class to level first in Forever?

If you plan to heal the nine new dungeons or the December raids, yes — healers are always the bottleneck for groups, and Forever's launch has no level scaling, so a Priest who reaches 60 early has a queue of groups waiting. Solo leveling as Priest has traditionally been slower than melee, and no announced change contradicts that yet. Two new leveling routes help either way: Zephras Isle (1–12, Skyborne only, so not for Priests) and the Riverglades (30–45, 150+ quests, Eastern Kingdoms), the latter open to any class.

Classic Plus Priest vs Classic Era Priest — same class?

Same name, different game. Forever (what players call Classic+) is a separate third version of WoW next to Modern and Classic, built by the Classic team and set in the game's first year. Its Priest will use the reworked talent system, the updated professions and Honor system, and the Legacy perks. What happens to your Classic Era or Anniversary characters is unknown; Blizzard has not said anything transfers between versions, so do not assume your Era Priest carries over.

If you want a Priest ready for the December 9 raid unlock without grinding every evening, PewPewShop's vetted human players offer WoW: Forever leveling as a pre-order — Power Leveling 1–60 from EUR 25, Dungeon Leveling from EUR 40 — plus coaching if you would rather learn the new trees hands-on. Boosters quote 2–3 weeks for a full 1–60 at launch.
