TBC Classic cooking caps at 375, and the fastest route is Ravager Flesh in Hellfire Peninsula. Level 1-300 in the old world (spider legs, wolf meat, then Roast Raptor or Monster Omelet), then Outland carries you 300-375 almost entirely on Ravager Flesh and Talbuk/Warp Stalker cuts. Trainers sit in Honor Hold and Thrallmar.

The 1-375 route at a glance

  • Skill cap: 375 (Artisan is 300, Master is trained in Outland at 300+).
  • Where to train Master: Honor Hold (Alliance) and Thrallmar (Horde) in Hellfire Peninsula.
  • 1-300: old-world levelling. Low-level beast meat, then charred wolf meat, then whatever your faction's cheap 200+ recipe is (raptor, spider, omelet). Most players buy meat off the auction house here rather than farm it.
  • 300-375: Ravager Flesh from the ravagers all over Hellfire Peninsula, then Talbuk Venison and Warped Flesh / Chunk o' Basilisk as recipes open up. Ravagers are dense, low-level for Outland, and drop meat constantly.
  • Fire requirement: you need a cooking fire or campfire. Flint and Tinder plus a Simple Wood makes one anywhere, or just stand at an inn.
  • Recipe source: many of the good Outland recipes come from Kurenai / Sporeggar / Cenarion Expedition reputation vendors and from cooking dailies in Shattrath, not the trainer.

Fastest levelling order

  1. Train up through the old-world ranks and burn cheap AH meat to 300.
  2. Fly to Hellfire Peninsula, train Master Cooking at your faction's base.
  3. Grind ravagers around Hellfire until Ravager Flesh stops giving skill.
  4. Switch to talbuk and warp stalker meat in Nagrand and Zangarmarsh for the last stretch to 375.
  5. Pick up the daily cooking quest in Shattrath for Barrel of Fish / recipe tokens once you're capped or close to it.

Is cooking actually worth it in TBC Classic?

Yes, and more than in vanilla. TBC raid buff food gives real stat gains that stack with elixirs and flasks, so a raid where everyone eats properly is measurably stronger. Spellpower food, agility food and stamina food are all standard consumables for Karazhan onward.

It's also cheap to keep going once you're at 375. One farming session on ravagers or talbuk gives you weeks of raid food.

Where do I learn Master Cooking in TBC?

Hellfire Peninsula, at your faction's first outpost: Honor Hold for Alliance, Thrallmar for Horde. You need 300 cooking to train it, and you'll want it before you start collecting Outland meat, since low-level recipes stop giving skill fast.

What's the best food for raiding?

Stat-specific food beats generic well-fed buffs. Casters want spellpower food, physical DPS want agility or attack power food, and tanks lean on stamina food. Most of the top recipes come from reputation vendors or the Shattrath daily rather than the trainer, so plan a few days of dailies if you want the full set.

Do I need fishing for cooking?

Not to reach 375, but it helps a lot. Several strong TBC recipes use fish, and fishing gives you a free, endless supply instead of paying auction house prices. Plenty of players level cooking and fishing side by side for exactly that reason.

How long does 1-375 take?

A few hours if you buy old-world meat and farm Outland yourself. Longer if you farm everything from scratch, since the 1-300 stretch is where most of the tedium lives. The Outland half is genuinely quick because ravagers are everywhere.

If you'd rather skip the grind entirely, PewPewShop runs a Classic Profession Mastery Boost from EUR 34.99 handled by vetted human players, and TBC Classic Gold from EUR 21 if you'd sooner buy your reagents than farm them. Either way, the raid food is waiting when you log in.
