The weekly Conquest cap in WoW is a rolling, cumulative limit: it rises by a fixed amount at every weekly reset, so any week you skip is added to your ceiling later. The exact numbers are set per season; in recent seasons it opened around 1,350 Conquest and grew by roughly 550 per week. Your live cap for the current week is shown on the Conquest bar in the PvP tab of your character panel.
Weekly Conquest cap: quick facts
| Cap type | Cumulative season total, not a flat per-week number |
| When it rises | At the weekly reset (Tuesday in NA, Wednesday in EU) |
| Missed weeks | Not lost — the ceiling keeps growing, so you can catch up |
| What counts | Rated Arena, Solo Shuffle, Rated Battlegrounds, Battleground Blitz, weekly PvP quests |
| Where to check | PvP tab → Conquest bar tooltip shows earned / cap for this week |
| Later in the season | Blizzard has lifted the cap partway through recent seasons |
How to reach the Conquest cap each week
- Pick up the weekly PvP quests from the vendors in your faction hub — they hand over a large chunk of Conquest for a handful of rated wins.
- Queue rated content. Wins pay the most, but Solo Shuffle and Blitz also pay per round or per match, so you keep earning even on losing streaks.
- Mix in unrated Battlegrounds and Epic BGs if queues are slow — the amount is smaller, but it still ticks the bar.
- Watch the Conquest bar. Once it reads capped, extra wins are wasted for the week — switch to Honor gear, Bloody Tokens or another character.
Why is my Conquest cap higher than my friend's?
Because the cap is cumulative. If your friend started playing rated in week one and capped every week, their ceiling equals this week's cap. If you started three weeks late, the game still credits you the full amount for those weeks, so your bar is much bigger until you catch up.
The same rule works per character. An alt created in week six can earn every week's Conquest at once, which is why catching up on a second character is faster than most people expect.
What is the fastest way to earn Conquest?
Rated wins plus the weekly quests. In practice, a player who plays a couple of hours of Solo Shuffle or 2v2 and clears the weekly quest reaches the cap in one evening. Below the current cap you earn from every bracket you win in, and losses in Shuffle still pay something per round, so consistent queuing beats hunting for the perfect comp.
Unrated BGs and world PvP quests are a fallback, not the main source. They help when queues die late at night, but a single rated win is worth more than a full unrated Battleground.
Does the cap apply to Solo Shuffle and Blitz?
Yes. All Conquest from every rated bracket, Solo Shuffle and Battleground Blitz included, goes into the same weekly pool. There is no separate cap per bracket. Once the bar is full, no queue will give you more Conquest until reset.
Is Honor capped the same way?
No. Honor has no weekly earning limit, only a maximum amount you can hold at once. After you hit the Conquest cap, you can keep farming Honor for the base PvP set, enchants and upgrade materials without hitting a weekly wall.
Conquest cap and gear
Conquest buys the rated PvP set from the vendor, and each week's cap roughly matches the price of one or two pieces early in the season. Missing the cap a few weeks in a row means you fall behind capped players in item level until the catch-up mechanic and a lifted cap close the gap — which is exactly why so many players treat the weekly cap as a must-do chore.
If you would rather not grind rated queues every reset, PewPewShop's vetted human players can help you keep the bar full: the Weekly Conquest Cap Carry for Midnight Season 2 starts from EUR 12.99, and a flexible Conquest Points Farm for any amount starts from EUR 7.5. Coaching and play-together sessions are available for players who want to learn to cap on their own.
