Blizzard has not announced a WoW Token for World of Warcraft: Forever. Nothing in the BlizzCon 2026 reveal, the launch content list or the Battle.net shop editions mentions a Token, so the honest status is unknown until Blizzard says otherwise. Classic Era and Hardcore realms never received it; Forever launches November 4, 2026 with no confirmed in-game gold-for-game-time exchange.
WoW Token and Forever: the facts so far
- Token status: not announced. Not confirmed, not ruled out. Treat any "leaked" Token price for Forever as fiction.
- Launch: November 4, 2026, 3 p.m. Pacific, worldwide, per Blizzard's roadmap.
- Cost to play: included with an active subscription or Game Time. No separate box purchase.
- Level cap: 60, permanently. New content arrives in patches, not expansions.
- Economy design: no flying, no level scaling, revamped professions, a new Camping system with tradeskill buffs, and account-wide Legacy perks that speed up alts. All of this points to a gold economy that matters a lot, Token or not.
- Historical pattern: Modern WoW has had the Token since 2015. Wrath Classic got it in 2023. Classic Era, Hardcore and Season of Discovery did not. Forever is built by the Classic team as a third experience next to Modern and Classic, so it could go either way.
Is there a WoW Token in Classic Plus?
"Classic Plus" and "Classic+" are community shorthand for WoW: Forever, so the answer is the same: no Token has been announced. Blizzard's official forum category for Forever opened on September 12, 2026, and no blue post there has addressed the Token. Earlier rumor threads from before the reveal are not a source.
What we do know is that Forever's economy is deliberately old-school. Gold will come from questing (1,000+ new quests at launch, 150+ in the Riverglades alone), dungeon loot from nine new instances, and profession work. Whether Blizzard adds a sanctioned way to convert real money into that gold is the open question.
What are the gold buying rules in WoW: Forever?
Blizzard's terms for every WoW version are the same on paper: gold is meant to be earned in-game or, where a Token exists, bought through Blizzard's own system. Forever has not been given its own separate rulebook, and nothing published at BlizzCon changes that baseline. Assume the standard Battle.net terms apply from day one.
In practice, third-party gold has existed on every Classic realm type without a Token, and Forever's fresh economy will be no different. The trade-off is yours to weigh: a Token, if it ever arrives, is the risk-free route; anything else depends on how carefully the seller works. PewPewShop delivers Forever gold from launch day, EU from EUR 11 and US from EUR 16.5, with a 10,000 Gold Pack from EUR 199.
Will gold be worth more in Forever than in Classic Era?
Almost certainly at launch, simply because everyone starts at zero on the same day. Mounts, riding skill (updated for Forever, exact costs unknown), profession skill-ups and raid consumables for Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit on December 9 will all compete for the same thin early supply. Classic Era has years of accumulated gold; Forever will have weeks.
The Legacy tree helps a little: Working Overtime adds +4% skill-up chance per rank and Diplomat adds +2% reputation per rank, which lowers the gold you burn on grinding. But those perks are earned by completing challenges, not bought, so they do not replace a bankroll in the first month.
Should I wait for a Token announcement before buying gold?
If you are patient, yes. Blizzard has a history of adding the Token to a Classic-family version months after launch, and a Forever Token would set a public gold price overnight. If you want to be mount-ready by the December 9 raid unlock, waiting for an announcement that may never come is the more expensive bet, because the launch-window gold crunch is when prices peak.
A middle path: buy only what you need for level 40 riding and your first raid consumables, then reassess once the economy settles into 2027.
If you would rather skip the grind entirely, PewPewShop's vetted human players offer Forever leveling, dungeon runs and gold as pre-orders until November 4, plus raid clears from December 9. No bots, no shortcuts that risk your account, and a long zero-ban record behind it.
