WoW Classic Engineering Leveling Guide (1–300)

Level Engineering 1–300 by grinding cheap Blasting Powders and metal parts in tiers — Rough Blasting Powder and Copper items to about 90, Bronze parts and Silver Contacts to 150, Iron Struts and Gyrochronatoms to 200, then Mithril crafts to roughly 260 and Thorium to 300. Take Mining alongside it so you always have the ore to feed the grind.

Skill caps and trainer levels

Tier-by-tier leveling route

1. 1–~90: Craft stacks of Rough Blasting Powder from Rough Stone, then Handful of Copper Bolts and Copper Tubes. Rough Copper Bombs and a Rough Boomstick bridge the last few points.
2. ~90–150: Move to Coarse Blasting Powder, then Bronze parts. Silver Contacts (a little Silver ore) and Whirring Bronze Gizmos carry you toward Big Bronze Bombs and Bronze Frameworks.
3. 150–200: Heavy and Solid Blasting Powder plus Iron Struts and Gyrochronatoms. Iron Grenades and Big Iron Bombs finish the push to 200.
4. 200–~260: Pick your specialization first, then grind Mithril: Mithril Tubes, Unstable Triggers, and Hi-Explosive Bombs are the workhorses.
5. ~260–300: Thorium Widgets and Thorium Grenades, backed by Dense Blasting Powder, take you to Artisan cap.

How much ore and stone do I need?

Expect to feed the grind well over a hundred Copper Bars early, plus Tin, Silver, Iron, roughly 100+ Mithril Bars, and Thorium at the top. You'll also mine or buy huge amounts of Rough, Coarse, Heavy, Solid, and Dense Stone for Blasting Powder — the single most-used reagent in the whole path.

Should I go Gnomish or Goblin Engineering?

At 200 skill and level 30 you choose a specialization. Goblin leans into raw explosives and combat gadgets like the Goblin Sapper Charge, which raiders love. Gnomish leans into utility and fun toys such as teleporters and the Net-o-Matic. You can switch later for gold, so pick what fits how you play now.

Do I need Mining with Engineering?

Effectively yes. Engineering burns ore, bars, and stone faster than any other profession, and buying it all on the Auction House gets expensive. Mining keeps your material cost near zero and lets you gather while you quest.
