Camping in WoW: Forever is a new social system in which players build a campsite in the open world that other players can join, and campsites grant tradeskill buffs. That is everything Blizzard has confirmed as of BlizzCon 2026: no recipe list, no skill ranks and no launch-day numbers have been published. Forever itself launches November 4, 2026.

Blizzard grouped Camping with the other Forever systems: no flying, no level scaling, opt-in transmog, an account-wide Legacy track, updated professions and a reworked riding skill. Camping was pitched as a way to make the open world feel populated again, which fits a game version where you spend most of your time on foot between quest hubs. Treat any detailed writeup you see about camp tiers, campfire recipes or specific buff percentages as speculation until Blizzard publishes it.

Not as far as Blizzard has said. The announcement described Camping as a system built around campsites, not a new primary or secondary profession. The only confirmed link to professions is that camps hand out tradeskill buffs. Whether you level Camping with skill points, unlock it through a quest, or simply get it at a certain level is unknown.
If you are planning your Forever character around professions, the safe assumption is that your normal two primaries plus Cooking, First Aid and Fishing still work the way Classic players expect, and Camping sits on top of them as a buff source.
What buffs does a campsite give?
Blizzard used the phrase "tradeskill buffs" and stopped there. No percentages, durations or affected professions were listed. The sensible reading is that being at a camp helps with crafting or gathering in some way, but exactly how — faster skill-ups, better yields, cheaper crafts — has not been shown. We will update this page when the beta or a patch note pins the numbers down.
Can other players join my camp?
Yes. That is the one design detail Blizzard was clear about: you build a campsite, and others can join it. It is meant to be a shared space, not a solo buff you pop and forget. Whether joining is open to anyone passing by, restricted to your group or guild, or faction-locked is not confirmed. Given that Forever keeps hard faction lines (the Skyborne race is not neutral, for example), do not expect cross-faction camps unless Blizzard says otherwise.
When can I actually try the Camping system?
The Forever beta runs September 17 – October 21, 2026, capped at level 30, and you need the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection to get in. Blizzard has not said whether Camping is in the beta build, so treat the beta as the first realistic chance, not a guarantee. Everyone else gets it at launch on November 4, 2026, 3:00 p.m. PST. Early name reservation opens October 27 for anyone with an upgrade pack.
If you would rather spend launch week questing than grinding profession ranks to make the most of camp buffs, PewPewShop takes Forever pre-orders now: Profession Leveling 1–300 from EUR 29, a Materials Farm at EUR 9 per hour, and the Cooking, First Aid and Fishing bundle from EUR 39 — all done by vetted human players, self-play or piloted, with a long zero-ban record.
