Best Druid spec by activity
Feral suits the widest range of Druid play right now, with Restoration as the best partner spec. All picks below are PewPewShop's recommendations, not Blizzard's. Blizzard plans a large tuning pass once it has data from players past level 30, so advice for levels 30-60 may shift.

| Activity | Recommended spec | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Leveling | Feral (Cat) | Launch notes raised Shred, Claw and Ravage; Rip, Rake, Ferocious Bite and Pounce are about 25% stronger |
| Dungeons | Feral (Bear) or Restoration | Bear threat bonus rose from 50% to 115%; Wild Growth covers the whole party |
| Raids, from December 9 | Restoration, provisional | No raid logs exist, so this rests on healing tools, not damage rankings |
| PvP | Feral | Feral Charge works in Cat Form and forms are immune to Disarm, which helps on flag maps |
- Level 10: Bear Form, Nature's Grasp and your first talent point.
- Level 12: Revive, an out-of-combat resurrection.
- Level 20: Omen of Clarity, plus the Cat Form quest.
- Level 32: Poised, the new passive that cuts 10 Energy from your next ability when you are out of combat at maximum Energy.
- Level 40: dual specialization.
Full 1-60 helpWoW: Forever Power Leveling 1–60Suits Druid players who want a vetted human pro alongside them for the climb to 60 instead of grinding it alone.from 990 EURSee options Which spec should you level a Druid with?
Level as Feral, because it pairs strong solo damage with a tanking form that needs no respec. You learn Bear Form at 10 and Cat Form at 20 through The Great Cat Spirit (Skyborne: The Great Windborne Cat Spirit), which asks for three relics from the Stormrage Barrow Den.
Before 20, mix Wrath with Bear Form. A solo player needs roughly 10-15 seconds per ordinary creature, so a form that lets you trade blows while you heal up between fights matters early.
Balance is the compromise pick. Starfire base damage went up about 40% in the launch notes and Hurricane has no cooldown, but you will rest for mana more often.
Which talents should a Druid prioritize at each level?
Stay in Feral while leveling and head for the deep Feral row that matches your job. A full build would mislead here: Wowhead reported many Druid talents moving in live hotfixes on October 30, and the launch notes changed Feral again, so check the in-game tree before spending.
- Levels 10-20: take Ferocity or Furor in the first row, then durable picks such as Thick Hide, which now gains armor from Defense.
- Levels 20-40: build Cat damage with Predatory Strikes, Natural Reaction and Rend and Tear. Add Lacerate, now a Feral talent per Wowhead, if you tank often.
- Levels 40-60: the launch notes give Feral two 31-point talents. Shifting Power serves Cat play by trading mana for 40 Energy, and Primal Bite serves Bear threat.
For a second spec, the Restoration milestones are Bloom at 11 points, Swiftmend at 16, Nature's Swiftness at 21 and Wild Growth at 31. Balance has Nature's Splendor at 11 and Insect Swarm at 16. Later hotfixes may have moved them.

Forever Druids keep the Classic toolkit but lose most of the old penalties for staying in form. Blizzard's class deep dive and launch notes list these changes:
- Potions, Rage potions and Thistle Tea work without leaving form; most Engineering bombs still do not.
- Weapon enchants and procs work in forms, and form auto-attack DPS equals your equipped weapon's DPS.
- Frenzied Regeneration heals up to 100% of maximum health.
- Faerie Fire works in forms, and Entangling Roots works indoors.
- Tiger's Fury is gone, and Wowhead's live data shows Berserk removed as well.
- Shifting Power replaces classic powershifting as the way to regain Energy.
- Improved Mark of the Wild is baseline.
Druids still have no snare, silence or interrupt.
What is the best Druid race in WoW: Forever?
Pick Tauren for tanking, Night Elf for PvP stealth play and Skyborne for haste and looks. Your faction will usually decide this first, since grouping needs the same ruleset and faction.
- Tauren (Horde): +5% Health at launch values, plus War Stomp on a 90-second cooldown that works in form. Plainsrunning builds movement speed while you travel.
- Night Elf (Alliance): Shadowmeld works in form, and Quickness stacks with other movement speed increases.
- Skyborne (either faction): 2% haste, +5% damage to Elementals, Walk on Air and unique sky-blue forms. High Order get Read Leyline; Windshapers get Skysight. Skyborne needs the Heroic Pack or higher, and SD Skyborne druid forms are planned for early 2027.
What role does a Druid fill in groups?
A Druid can tank, heal or deal damage, and Bear tank is the easiest invitation to earn while leveling. Bear threat rose sharply because the Paladin Blessing of Salvation is gone, so damage dealers will be watching threat more closely.
Healers get Wild Growth for party damage, and Swiftmend no longer eats your HoT, though Wowhead reports it now needs your own Regrowth or Rejuvenation on the target. Moonkin Aura and Leader of the Pack both reach the raid, and Wowhead's live data shows Leader of the Pack now raising all critical strike.
Common Druid mistakes in WoW: Forever
Most early Druid mistakes come from using Classic habits or outdated beta guides.
- Hunting for new spells on your bars: newly learned spells no longer appear there automatically, so drag new ranks in yourself.
- Downranking everything: on the beta, spells far below your level gained less from Spell Healing and had a reduced Omen of Clarity chance.
- Bear-weaving for Energy: Furor's Energy regeneration no longer works in Bear Form, by Blizzard's design.
- Leaving form to drink a potion: you no longer need to.
- Respeccing casually: changes need a class trainer in a major city, and Blizzard says the price climbs quickly before resetting weekly.

Frequently asked questions
When do Druids get Cat Form in WoW: Forever?
Druids get Cat Form at level 20 through a quest called The Great Cat Spirit, or The Great Windborne Cat Spirit for Skyborne. The quest asks for three relics from the Stormrage Barrow Den. Bear Form comes earlier, at level 10, so new Druids have a melee form for the first stretch of leveling.
Can a Feral Druid tank dungeons in WoW: Forever?
Yes, Feral is the tanking tree through Bear Form. The launch development notes raised the Bear and Dire Bear threat bonus from 50% to 115%, and Primal Bite is the Bear-focused 31-point talent. Frenzied Regeneration can also heal up to 100% of maximum health, which gives Bears a strong emergency tool in harder pulls.
Can Skyborne be Druids in WoW: Forever?
Yes, all Skyborne can be Druids on either faction, using the High Order for Alliance or the Windshapers for Horde. Skyborne Druids have unique sky-blue forms. The race requires the Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher, and Blizzard says Standard Definition Skyborne druid forms are in development for early 2027.
When does dual spec unlock for Druids in WoW: Forever?
Dual specialization unlocks at level 40 for every class. A Blizzard developer floated a lower level on the official podcast, but no change has been announced. For a Druid, the most practical setup is Feral plus Restoration, which keeps you useful as either a tank or a healer when forming dungeon groups.
Can Druids use potions in forms in WoW: Forever?
Yes, shapeshifted Druids can use all potions and almost all similar consumables, including Rage potions and Thistle Tea, without leaving form. Most Engineering bombs still will not work, apart from new SAF-T and EZ-Thro recipes. This removes one of the biggest Classic penalties for Bear and Cat play.
