In WoW: Forever, early starting-zone quests give you a free 6-slot bag that is Bind on Pickup and equips itself the moment you loot it. The confirmed example is “Grund and Gozwin” in Dun Morogh; “Carry Your Weight” is another reported bag quest. Bag sizes otherwise stay at original Classic values, so this is your first storage boost.

That table is the whole story so far. Blizzard has not published a per-zone list of bag quests, and the beta only opened on September 17 with zones up to level 20, so expect more quest names to surface as players work through each start.

Is there a free bag quest in every starting zone?

Not confirmed. What Blizzard has said, in interviews, is that starting zones offer a bag quest and that “Grund and Gozwin” is one of them. The wording suggests the pattern repeats across starts, but no one at Blizzard has listed Elwynn, Durotar, Tirisfal, Teldrassil, Mulgore or Zephras Isle quest by quest. Treat every zone other than Dun Morogh as “likely, unverified” until the beta shows otherwise.

If you are rolling a Skyborne on Zephras Isle (the new 1–12 island start, Heroic Pack or higher required), whether that zone has its own bag quest is unknown right now.

Why does a 6-slot bag matter if bag sizes did not change?

Because the early game is where storage hurts the most. Original Classic gave you a 16-slot backpack and nothing else; you either bought Linen bags off the Auction House, farmed drops, or begged a tailor. Forever keeps those original bag sizes on purpose — the developers said bags start at their old sizes — so the free quest bag is a deliberate quality-of-life nudge rather than a power boost. Your bank, on the other hand, is 2–4× bigger, so the long-term squeeze lands on your character, not your vault.

Auto-equip is the small detail people miss. In Forever a looted bag drops into an open bag slot on its own, so you will not carry a bag inside a bag for ten levels the way half of vanilla did.

What else do the first few starting-zone quests give in Forever?

A profession head start. Around level 3–4, a quest offers a manual for Herbalism, Mining or Skinning — one of the three gathering skills — so you can start collecting materials before you ever see a trainer in the capital. Combined with the bag, that is Blizzard’s answer to the “first hour is empty pockets and no income” problem.

Gathering also feeds the new Camping system later: profession campfire objects unlock from skill 20, and Legacy points are awarded the first time each tradeskill hits 150, 225 and 300. Picking up that manual early is not just flavor.

Can I get the bag on another character or send it to an alt?

No. The quest bag is Bind on Pickup, so it stays on the character who completed the quest. Every new character runs the quest again for its own copy. If you want bags on an alt fast, the realistic routes are still tailoring, Auction House purchases, or dungeon and world drops — the same as original Classic.

One more Forever-specific note: there is no cross-ruleset grouping, and Blizzard has said it will be “very punishing towards gold buyers.” Buy your bags with gold you earned in-game.
