In WoW: Forever, Honor gains have been rebalanced so that camping Alterac Valley is no longer the dominant farm, there is no Rated PvP, and progression runs on a 14-rank Honor track that resets every season. A new 15v15 battleground, The Darkspear Islands, carries its own reputation. Exact Honor values per battleground have not been published; the changes were confirmed around Blizzard's September 17, 2026 Q&A, per Wowhead's recap.

Why did Blizzard move Honor away from Alterac Valley?
In the original game and again in Classic, one long or turtled AV yielded so much Honor that most rank pushers lived there while Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin queues sat empty. Forever's design goal, as stated in the Q&A coverage, is to spread that value across the whole battleground roster so the map you enjoy is also a map worth queueing.
What we do not know is the new ratio. Blizzard has not released Honor-per-win, Honor-per-kill or bonus-objective values, and beta week one does not include battlegrounds yet — the new one opens later in the test. Treat any specific number you read before then as a guess.
What is the new battleground reputation in WoW: Forever?
The Darkspear Islands is a 15v15 map that plays like Eye of the Storm with Arathi Basin-style bases to hold. Unlike the classic three, which feed the Silverwing Sentinels, Warsong Outriders, League of Arathor, Defilers, Stormpike Guard and Frostwolf Clan, Darkspear comes with a reputation of its own.
Vendor items, tabards or mounts tied to that reputation have not been shown. Expect the usual pattern of battleground reputation — earned by playing the map, rewards behind Friendly through Exalted — but wait for Blizzard or the beta to confirm the details.
How does the 14-rank Honor track work?
Instead of a rating, you climb 14 ranks by earning Honor, and the track resets when a season ends. Wowhead's datamining lists rewards in this order, all subject to change: tabard (1), insignia (2), cloak (3), necklace (4), combat potions (5), elite tabard (6), battle standard (7), elite wrist and waist (8), boots (9), gloves (10), Black War mounts (11), shoulders and legs (12), helm and chest (13), Weapon Arsenal (14).
Two systems stack on top: the Legacy tree's For Great Honor node adds 2% Honor per rank across all your characters, and the Earning PvP Ranks category of Legacy Challenges pays out Legacy points, so a rank push also feeds your account-wide perks.
Can I farm Honor on the Normal ruleset?
Yes. Forever is realmless — you pick a ruleset, not a server — and battlegrounds are shared across rulesets. A Normal-ruleset character who never flags outdoors still queues into the same Warsong, Arathi, Alterac and Darkspear games as PvP-ruleset players. The PvP ruleset additionally gets Horde/Alliance balance systems similar to Season of Discovery.
Forever launches November 4, 2026 with a permanent level 60 cap, so there is no expansion cliff wiping your gear — but the seasonal reset on the Honor track means rank rewards are something you re-earn.
If you would rather have a vetted human player grind the queues with you, PewPewShop takes Forever pre-orders until launch: Forever Honor Farming from EUR 16 per hour, Battleground Wins across WSG, AB and AV from EUR 13, and Darkspear Islands Wins from EUR 15, all in Self-Play or coaching formats with no bots and a long zero-ban record.
