The Spectral Bear is the top cosmetic reward of the Legacy system in World of Warcraft: Forever. You earn Legacy points by completing Legacy Challenges (one point each), and hitting point totals unlocks four rewards in order: the Replica Ironforge Air Rifle, the Spectral Bear Cub pet, the Spectral Bear tabard, and finally Reins of the Spectral Bear mount. Exact point thresholds are not yet published.

  • Source: the Legacy panel shown at the BlizzCon 2026 demo (September 12, 2026), as documented by Wowhead.
  • Currency: Legacy points. One completed Legacy Challenge = one point.
  • Six challenge categories: Exploring, Leveling Classes, Increasing Tradeskills, Earning PvP Ranks, Maximizing Reputations, Completing Dungeons and Raids.
  • Scope: the Legacy system is account-wide, so progress on any character counts toward the same pool.
  • Unknown right now: the point cost of each reward, the full challenge list, and whether the bear has a Horde and Alliance variant. Blizzard has not published those numbers.
  • Availability: Forever launches November 4, 2026 at 3 p.m. Pacific and is included with an active subscription or Game Time. The beta (September 17 – October 21) is capped at level 30, so nobody is earning the bear before launch.

How Legacy Challenges actually work

Think of Legacy as a second, slower progression track sitting beside your character. Each challenge is a long-term goal tied to one of the six categories: get a class to 60, cap a tradeskill, reach a PvP rank, max a reputation, clear a dungeon or raid, or uncover parts of the world. Finish one and a point drops into your account-wide pool.

Points go two places at once. First, your running total ticks toward the four cosmetic milestones above. Second, you spend the points themselves in a talent-style tree of non-combat perks split into three branches: Professions (Working Overtime, +4% skill-up chance per rank; Dedicated Study on a 23-hour cooldown), Adventure (Well Rested, +4% rested XP per rank; Talented, which grants talent points from level 9 while keeping the 51-point cap) and Resourcefulness (Reinforce, −6% durability loss per rank; Diplomat, +2% reputation per rank; For Great Honor, +2% Honor per rank). None of these perks change your raw combat numbers, so the system rewards breadth of play without power creep.

How many Legacy points does the Spectral Bear mount cost?

Not confirmed. The demo showed the reward order but not the totals behind each unlock, and Blizzard has said Legacy details are still being finalized. What is safe to say: the mount is the last of the four rewards, so expect it to demand progress across several categories rather than one grind. We will update this page once the caps are official.

Is the Spectral Bear a Horde or Alliance mount?

Unknown. The item shown at BlizzCon was simply labeled Reins of the Spectral Bear. Because Legacy is account-wide, the reasonable expectation is that any faction's characters contribute to it, but whether the reward itself is faction-specific has not been stated. Remember also that Forever has no flying mounts at all, so this is a ground mount by design.

What is the Replica Ironforge Air Rifle?

It is the first Legacy milestone reward: a cosmetic nod to the air rifle from the classic Ironforge gnome vendors. Whether it is a toy, a transmog-only weapon or a usable item was not clarified at the demo, and transmog in Forever is opt-in per player, so treat it as a collectible rather than a gear piece.

Do Legacy rewards carry over to Classic Era or Modern WoW?

Nothing about cross-version transfer has been announced, and Forever is a separate experience with its own account-wide Legacy pool. Assume the bear, cub, tabard and rifle live in Forever only unless Blizzard says otherwise.

If the challenge list looks like more hours than you have, PewPewShop's vetted human players (no bots, no cheats, long zero-ban record) can help you build the alts, professions and dungeon clears that feed Legacy points. Forever leveling 1–60 is available as a pre-order from EUR 25, and dungeon leveling from EUR 40, with coaching or play-together sessions if you would rather learn the new dungeons yourself.
