Blizzard has not published any addon details for World of Warcraft: Forever — no API notes, no addon folder path, no list of supported or blocked addons. Forever is built by the Classic team as a third WoW experience next to Modern and Classic, so players expect the Classic addon scene to follow, but the first real test is the beta running September 17 – October 21, 2026.

Will Classic addons work in WoW: Forever?

Nobody outside Blizzard can answer that yet. Forever is developed by the Classic team and lives in the same launcher family as Modern and Classic, which is why most players assume the addon ecosystem carries over in some form. Assumption is not confirmation, though. Forever also revamps every class and specialization, changes the Honor system, updates professions and riding, and adds brand-new systems such as Camping and Legacy — every one of those is a place where an existing addon could break or need a rewrite.

The practical rule: treat 'Classic Plus addons' as a category that does not exist until September 17. Once beta players can open the client, addon authors will find out quickly whether their Classic builds load, and the usual hubs will start tagging releases for Forever. Until then, do not install anything that claims to be a Forever addon.

What UI features are built in without addons?

Blizzard confirmed a handful of quality-of-life pieces at the announcement. Gamepad support is native, so controller play does not depend on a third-party addon. Character and world graphics can be toggled between HD and SD looks. Transmog is opt-in per player, meaning you decide whether you see other people's cosmetic gear. Character names are a Full Name made of a Main Name plus a Secondary Name, and whether that secondary name displays is a settings toggle.

How much of the default action bars, unit frames, map and quest tracker have been reworked is not published. If you rely on a heavily customised UI in Classic, plan on rebuilding it after launch rather than expecting a one-click import.

When will addon authors get to test Forever?

The beta is the first window: September 17 through October 21, 2026, with play capped at level 30. Access comes with the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection. That gives authors roughly five weeks before Early Name Reservation opens on October 27 and about seven weeks before the November 4 launch. Expect a rush of 'works in Forever' updates during the beta, then a second wave once the level cap opens to 60 and endgame content is live.

Raids unlock December 9, 2026 — Barrow Deeps (10-player), Hyjal Summit (20-player) and Onyxia's Lair (40-player) together. Boss lists and loot are not published, so raid-specific addon profiles cannot exist before then.

Should I wait for addons before starting?

No. Forever has no level scaling and the cap is 60 for good, so the leveling race at launch is decided by route knowledge and playtime, not by addons. Three new zones, nine new dungeons and 1,000+ quests ship on day one, and none of it has established addon data yet — everyone starts on the same footing. Play the default UI, learn the Riverglades (30–45) and the new dungeons, and layer addons on as they appear.

If you would rather skip the launch grind

PewPewShop is taking Forever pre-orders until November 4: coaching and play-together leveling from EUR 13 for 1–30 and from EUR 15 for 30–45, any dungeon run from EUR 12, Dalaran city-dungeon runs from EUR 16, and Barrow Deeps 10-player clears from EUR 35 once raids open on December 9. Every order is handled by vetted human players with a long zero-ban record — no bots, no cheats — and a full 1–60 at launch is quoted at two to three weeks.
