Not in the way most people mean it: Keystone Master is a seasonal retail Mythic+ achievement, earned by hitting the season's rating threshold — 2000 in recent seasons — on a live character. Legion Remix is a separate, time-limited event with its own characters, difficulty tiers and reward track, so hours spent there do not build your current-season Mythic+ score.
Quick facts
- The achievement is seasonal and named for its season. Open the Achievements pane, Dungeons & Raids, and look at the current season tab — the entry literally carries the season in its name. That is the one that pays out.
- It is a rating threshold, not a key level. You need total Mythic+ score across the season's dungeon pool, not one lucky timed run.
- Every dungeon in the pool matters. Score is summed per dungeon, so eight decent runs beat two perfect ones plus six blanks.
- Both affix weeks count. Running the same dungeon on the alternate weekly rotation adds score on top of your first clear.
- The mount lands after the season ends. The title and achievement are instant; the seasonal mount is delivered once the season closes, to characters that met the bar.
- Remix rewards stay in Remix's own economy — event currency, Legion-era transmog, mounts and catch-up gearing. Great value, different currency of progress.
Does anything in Legion Remix count toward Mythic+ score?
Treat it as a separate track. Seasonal Mythic+ rating comes from timed keystone runs inside the live season's dungeon rotation on a retail character, and event content sits outside that loop. If you are chasing the seasonal mount and title, the clock you are racing is the live season's, not the event's.
One honest caveat: Blizzard adds systems to these events, and event-only achievements sometimes borrow familiar names. Before you assume anything, hover the achievement in your log. If the tooltip names a season, it is the retail seasonal award. If it names the event, it is an event award and it will not carry retail rating with it.
So what is the fastest route to Keystone Master right now?
Get keys to a comfortable level, then go wide instead of deep. Clear every dungeon in the pool at a level you can time reliably, come back on the other affix rotation for the second helping, and only then push higher. Most people who stall at 1600-1800 are missing two or three dungeons entirely, not missing skill.
Route knowledge and pull sizing are worth more than gear here. A group that knows where the trash count comes from will time a key that a better-geared pug bricks at the second boss.
Do I keep the title if I stop playing after the season?
Yes. The achievement and the title stay on your account permanently once earned. The seasonal mount is the part with a deadline — miss the threshold before the season ends and that specific mount does not come back later.
Is my Remix character useless for this?
Not at all. Event characters roll into normal play once the event wraps, and the levels, transmog and collections come with them. Think of Remix as a cheap way to arrive at the finish line of an expansion with a stocked collection — then start your key push on live content with that character.
