Every meaningful "Classic Plus" leak has now been overtaken by an official announcement: at BlizzCon on September 12, 2026, Blizzard revealed World of Warcraft: Forever, launching November 4, 2026 at 3 p.m. Pacific, included with a normal subscription. Anything you read before that date was speculation; the only reliable source now is Blizzard's own roadmap, and that roadmap is already more detailed than any leak ever was.

Rumor vs reality: the quick scorecard

Common leak claimWhat Blizzard actually said
"Classic+ is real"Confirmed. Official name is WoW: Forever, built by the Classic team, set in WoW's first year.
Leaked release dates (various)November 4, 2026, 3 p.m. Pacific, worldwide. Beta runs September 17 – October 21, capped at level 30.
"Level cap raised to 70/80"Wrong. Cap stays at 60 permanently; content arrives as patches, not expansions.
"New race incoming"Confirmed: the Skyborne, an elven race starting on Zephras Isle, split into Horde (Windshaper) and Alliance (High Order).
"High Elves / Ogres / Death Knights"Not announced. Class roster is the original nine; "nothing is off the table" for later.
"Sold as a separate game"Wrong. Included with an active subscription. Optional Skyborne Heroic Pack costs €29.99 on the EU shop.
"Mount Hyjal opens"Confirmed as an endgame zone with the Hyjal Summit 20-player raid.
"Flying mounts added"Wrong. No flying, no level scaling.

Confirmed launch content (no speculation)

  • Three new zones: Zephras Isle (1–12 Skyborne start), the Riverglades (30–45, Eastern Kingdoms, 150+ quests), Mount Hyjal (endgame).
  • Nine new dungeons, including Hall of Thanes beneath Ironforge, Ruins of Lordaeron, City of Dalaran, Drowned City, Blackmaw Hold, Alcaz Prison, Shaper's Terrace and Krol'dok Stronghold. Boss lists and loot are not public.
  • Two new raids at launch build: Barrow Deeps (10-player) and Hyjal Summit (20-player). Per the roadmap they open December 9, 2026, alongside 40-player Onyxia's Lair.
  • New class combos: Forsaken Paladin and Dwarf Shaman. All classes and specs revamped.
  • New systems: Legacy (account-wide perks), Camping, opt-in transmog, toggleable HD/SD graphics, gamepad support. Hardcore is coming; rules unpublished.
  • PvP: original battlegrounds plus The Darkspear Islands, a 15v15 map.

Is there a leaked Classic Plus release date I should trust instead?

No. The date is official: November 4, 2026. Early name reservation runs October 27 – November 3 for players with any upgrade pack (up to three characters, first come first served). Invite-a-friend launch codes go out from October 20 and let a friend play November 4–11 without a subscription.

If you see a different date circulating, it is either an old rumor or a misreading of the beta window (September 17 – October 21).

Which Classic Plus rumors are still unconfirmed?

A lot of what gets shared as "leaked" remains genuinely unknown. Blizzard has not published realm names, realm types or regions, what happens to Classic Era, Anniversary or Season of Discovery realms, Hardcore rules, loot tables, or whether Molten Core and Blackwing Lair are open at launch. The line "set after Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core" describes the story timeline, not which raids are available.

Treat any post that fills these gaps with specifics as speculation until it appears on Blizzard's official WoW: Forever forum category.

What did the leaks get wrong about the roadmap?

Most speculation assumed expansion-style level increases. The real roadmap is patch-based at level 60: Spring 2027 brings two new raids (10 and 20-player), two dungeons, a new legendary questline and a PvP season refresh. Summer 2027 adds a revamped iconic raid, another new raid, two more dungeons, and profession and Legacy updates.

Do I need to buy anything to play Forever?

Not for the base experience. The Skyborne race itself requires the Heroic Pack (€29.99) or higher; the Epic Pack adds beta access and 30 days of game time from November 4, and the Warcraft Forever Collection (sold until January 11, 2027) bundles Warcraft III: Reforged and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign.

If you want to skip the launch-week crush, PewPewShop offers vetted human pros for Forever pre-orders: Forever Leveling 1–30 from EUR 13, dungeon runs from EUR 16, and the Launch-Ready Pack (1–60, pre-raid gear, 500g) from EUR 219, with raid clears from December 9.
