Hall of Thanes in WoW: Forever — The Alliance Dungeon at 13–18

Hall of Thanes is one of the nine new dungeons in World of Warcraft: Forever, tuned for levels 13–18 and built as the Alliance's first dungeon — the counterpart to the Horde's Lordaeron (15–20). Horde players can still enter it. It arrives with Forever's worldwide launch on November 4, 2026, and Blizzard has not yet published its boss list or loot.

What makes this notable: in original-era WoW the Alliance had nothing at this level bracket, while the Horde got Ragefire Chasm at 13–18 in Orgrimmar. Hall of Thanes fills that gap. Forever is the Classic team's third WoW experience alongside Modern and Classic, set in the game's first year, with the level cap fixed at 60 for good and new content shipped as patches rather than expansions.

Where is the Hall of Thanes entrance?

Blizzard has not published the entrance location. "Thane" is a dwarven title in Warcraft lore, which points at dwarven territory, but treat that as a guess until the map is confirmed. Beta testers may pin it down between September 17 and October 21, since a 13–18 dungeon sits well inside the beta's level-30 cap.

Until then, the safe assumption is simply: it is the Alliance's low-level dungeon, positioned the same way Lordaeron is positioned for the Horde. Whether it starts a quest chain or ties into any of the three new zones (Zephras Isle, the Riverglades, Mount Hyjal) is unknown.

What level should I be for Hall of Thanes?

Aim for the top half of the 13–18 band. Forever keeps the original design with no level scaling, so a level 13 group will feel every missing talent point, while an 18 walks through it. Since Lordaeron overlaps at 15–20, Alliance players who can reach Horde territory get two dungeon options in the same stretch of leveling.

A full 1–60 in Forever is a real time investment — boosters quote 2–3 weeks at launch — so early dungeons like this one are mostly about gear, quest turn-ins and learning your revamped class. Every class and spec has been reworked for Forever; Paladins, for instance, get a tanking seal and more group healing.

Can Horde players run Hall of Thanes?

Yes. Blizzard states Hall of Thanes is Alliance-oriented but open to Horde, exactly as Lordaeron is Horde-oriented but open to Alliance. Getting a Horde group to an Alliance dungeon at level 15 is the practical hurdle — no flying mounts exist in Forever, and the riding skill has been changed, so expect a long walk and some corpse runs.

Is Hall of Thanes in the WoW: Forever beta?

Not confirmed. The beta runs September 17 – October 21, 2026 with play capped at level 30, and access comes with the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection. A 13–18 dungeon falls inside that cap, so it is a reasonable candidate, but Blizzard has not listed which of the nine dungeons are testable.

Nine ship at launch: Hall of Thanes (13–18, Alliance), Lordaeron (15–20, Horde), Dalaran (a city-dungeon, 20–35), Excavation Site in the Wetlands, The Drowned City (a troll ruin off Stranglethorn Vale), Alcaz Island Prison, Blackmaw Hold (a furbolg city), and two high-level instances at 40–60: The Shaper's Terrace and Krol'Dok Stronghold.
