Keystone Hero: Algeth'ar Academy — What It Takes

Keystone Hero: Algeth'ar Academy is the per-dungeon achievement you earn by finishing Algeth'ar Academy on a +10 keystone or higher inside the timer. Its reward is the dungeon teleport spell Path of the Draconic Diploma, which lets you skip the flight to Thaldraszus. The achievement is only obtainable while the dungeon sits in the active Mythic+ rotation, as it does in Midnight Season 1.

How to get it, step by step

1. Get an Algeth'ar Academy keystone at +10 or above — from your own vault/end-of-dungeon key, a friend's key, or the Dungeon Finder premade tool.
2. Bring a full group that can handle +10 affixes; the middle of the dungeon (the plant packs before Overgrown Ancient) is where most timers die.
3. Finish all four bosses and the enemy-forces count before the clock runs out. Depleting the key (finishing late) does not count.
4. The achievement pops on the final boss kill; the teleport shows up in your spellbook under the dungeon teleports section.

Is +10 still the requirement in Midnight?

Yes. Since the keystone squish, every per-dungeon Keystone Hero achievement asks for a timed +10 rather than the old +20. Algeth'ar Academy came back into the pool with Midnight Season 1 alongside Seat of the Triumvirate, Skyreach and Pit of Saron, and the rule is the same for all eight dungeons: one timed +10, any role, any spec.

A +11 or +12 also counts — the achievement reads "level 10 or higher", so overshooting is fine and comes with better crests anyway.

What does the Path of the Draconic Diploma teleport do?

It's a castable spell that drops you at the Algeth'ar Academy entrance in Thaldraszus. Dungeon teleports are shared across your Warband, so once one character earns Keystone Hero: Algeth'ar Academy, alts can use the port too. It has a short cooldown and cannot be cast in combat.

Practically, it saves the flight from Valdrakken every time the key lands on Academy, which over a season is a lot of dead minutes.

How hard is Algeth'ar Academy at +10?

Manageable if the group respects three things: the Crawth ball mechanic (kick the ball into the goals or you eat a big raid-wide hit), the Overgrown Ancient add waves (burn the seeds, don't stand in the rot), and the Echo of Doragosa finale where positioning and interrupts decide the run. Trash between bosses hits harder than the bosses at this level; pulling the plant packs one at a time keeps the healer sane.

The Dragonflight timer for this dungeon was 32 minutes. Current seasonal tuning can shift that, so trust the number on your keystone tooltip rather than old guides.

Is Keystone Hero the same as the seasonal Keystone Hero title?

No. There are two different things with almost the same name. The per-dungeon version ("Keystone Hero: Algeth'ar Academy") is a single timed +10 in that dungeon and gives the teleport. The seasonal "Keystone Hero" is a Mythic+ rating milestone earned across all dungeons, sitting between Keystone Master and Keystone Legend. You can hold one without the other.

If you're chasing the full ladder this season, Keystone Master lands at 2000 score and Keystone Legend at 3000.

Can I get it after the season ends?

Only if Algeth'ar Academy is in the next season's pool. Dragonflight-era achievements from Season 1 and Season 4 carried over when the dungeon returned, but nobody can guarantee a future rotation. If you want the teleport, the safe play is to time the +10 while the dungeon is live.
