Midnight's Mythic+ mounts hang off Keystone Master and Keystone Legend, not Keystone Hero. In Season 2, 2000 Mythic+ score earns Breath of Blight, and 3000 score earns Breath of Ruin. Keystone Hero sits between them as a rating milestone — in recent seasons that has meant 2500 score — and it is a prestige step, not a confirmed mount of its own.
Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ ladder
| Achievement | Requirement | Mount |
| Keystone Master | 2000 Mythic+ score | Breath of Blight |
| Keystone Hero | The step above Master (2500 score in recent seasons) | No separate mount I can confirm |
| Keystone Legend | 3000 Mythic+ score | Breath of Ruin |
- Score is seasonal and resets when the season rolls over — the mounts do not carry into the next one.
- Only timed runs move your rating meaningfully; a depleted key still gives loot and gear, but the score gain is a fraction of a timed clear.
- Your total is built from your best result in each dungeon, so a single weak dungeon is usually where the missing points are hiding.
- Both mount achievements are account-wide credit once earned, but the rating itself is tracked per character.
Is Keystone Hero worth chasing if the mount lands at 2000?
Yes, for two reasons. It is the checkpoint that gets you invited to the keys you actually want — most pugs read your rating before your item level. And it is the natural halfway house on the road to 3000, where Breath of Ruin is waiting.
If your only goal is a mount, stopping at 2000 is a perfectly sane decision. If you want to be the one holding the key rather than begging for a spot, Hero is where that changes.
How do you climb from 2000 to 3000 score in Midnight?
Not by grinding the same dungeon. Look at your score breakdown, find the two or three dungeons dragging your average down, and push those specifically. Points come faster from raising a weak dungeon by three key levels than from re-running your best one.
Past 2000, the wall is almost never damage — it is routing, interrupt assignments and knowing which trash packs to skip. A stable group of five that runs the same route twice a week will outpace a stronger pug player every time.
Do the Midnight Mythic+ mounts go away when the season ends?
Seasonal Mythic+ mounts have always been time-limited. Once a season closes, the reward stops being obtainable and the next one takes its place. Breath of Blight and Breath of Ruin belong to Season 2 — if you want either, the window is the season itself, not "someday".
What if I cannot place "Keystone Hero" in Midnight at all?
The naming has shifted between expansions, and Blizzard renames or re-tiers these achievements between seasons. Check the Mythic+ tab in your Adventure Guide in-game: it lists the exact current season's thresholds and rewards for your account, which beats any guide written before the patch you are playing.
If you would rather have a vetted pro help you cover the distance, PewPewShop runs coaching and play-together Mythic+ progression with human players — Keystone Master (2000 score and Breath of Blight) from EUR 139.99, or the full Keystone Legend push (3000 score and Breath of Ruin) from EUR 489.99. Single Mythic+ runs start from EUR 11.99 if you just need a couple of dungeons cleaned up.
