Loot you leave behind in a dungeon is not gone: on the WoW: Forever beta, unlooted items are mailed back to you by the Steamwheedle Lost and Found, fronted by the goblin Rix Xizzix. Walk out of an instance with a corpse still holding gear and it follows you to your mailbox instead of despawning. Blizzard has not published return timers, postage costs or limits.

  • Who sends it: the Steamwheedle Lost and Found, signed by the goblin Rix Xizzix.
  • What triggers it: items left unlooted in a dungeon when you leave the instance.
  • Where it lands: your normal in-game mailbox, like any other mail.
  • Where this was seen: the Forever beta, live since September 17, 2026 — reported by Wowhead from beta play, not from a Blizzard feature article.
  • Not published: how long the return takes, whether there is a cost, whether raid loot is included, and whether the system ships unchanged on November 4.

Why hasn't my Lost and Found mail arrived?

Because beta mail itself is broken right now. Forever is realmless and every character has a two-part name, and on the beta mail is being routed by first name alone — so letters can land on the wrong character, auction-house mail included.

Players are being told not to lean on the mailbox until Blizzard fixes the routing. Face-to-face trading is unaffected. If a Lost and Found letter never shows up during beta testing, that bug is the first suspect, not the system.

Do I still need to loot the corpse myself?

Yes, for appearances. In Forever, bind-on-pickup Uncommon and Rare dungeon drops hand their appearance to every eligible looter at the moment the item is looted — miss the loot window in the instance and you lose that shared unlock, even if the item itself eventually reaches you. Epic raid drops only grant an appearance to the player the item binds to.

Treat the Lost and Found as a safety net for a disconnect or a rushed exit, not as a reason to stop clicking corpses.

Which dungeons does it cover?

Nothing published restricts it to a subset. Forever ships nine new dungeons alongside every classic one, and on the beta today only two are open: Hall of Thanes (13–18, beneath Ironforge) and Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20). More open as the beta rolls on.

At launch the list also includes City of Dalaran (20–35), the Excavation Site above Whelgar's dig in the Wetlands, the Drowned City off Stranglethorn, Blackmaw Hold, and the 40–60 trio of Alcaz Prison, Shaper's Terrace and Krol'dok Stronghold. Boss lists and loot tables are still unpublished.

Is the Lost and Found confirmed for the November 4 launch?

Not confirmed — observed. It is a beta behaviour reported from testing, and Blizzard has not written it up as a shipping feature. Beta runs September 17 to October 21, 2026; Forever launches November 4, 2026 at 3 p.m. Pacific, included with an active subscription or Game Time.

Beta systems do change. Until Blizzard names it in a patch note or feature post, plan your runs as though anything you leave on the floor stays on the floor.

If you would rather have a vetted human player handle the dungeon itself while you learn the pulls, PewPewShop runs Forever beta dungeon coaching for Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron from EUR 12, with launch dungeons queued for November 4. Real players, no bots, no cheats — and yes, they loot properly.
