Rogue is a playable class in World of Warcraft: Forever from launch on November 4, 2026, and it is one of the four classes every Skyborne can roll, on both Horde and Alliance. Blizzard says every class and specialization is being revamped, with talents moving away from small percentage fillers, but a detailed Rogue ability list has not been published yet.
Quick facts: Rogue in WoW: Forever
- Available at launch: yes — Rogue is part of the original class roster and Forever keeps it.
- New race option: Skyborne Rogue. Both Skyborne variants (Windshaper for Horde, High Order for Alliance) can be Warrior, Hunter, Rogue or Druid.
- Skyborne racials for a Rogue: Walk on Air (glide downward for 10 s), Wind Blessed (+1% haste), Elemental Insight (+5% damage to Elementals); Horde adds Skysight (+10% run speed), Alliance adds Read Ley Line (+100% health and mana regeneration).
- Class revamp: Blizzard states all classes and specs are being reworked and talents drop the +1–2% filler style. Rogue-specific changes are not published.
- Level cap: 60, permanently. No level scaling, no flying mounts.
- Talents earlier: the account-wide Legacy perk "Talented" unlocks talent points from level 9 (still 51 max).
- Orc Rogues: Axe Specialization now grants critical strike chance instead of weapon skill (per Blizzard's racial changes).
- Beta: September 17 – October 21, 2026, capped at level 30, via the Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection.
What "revamped" means for Rogue — and what it does not
Blizzard's line at BlizzCon was that every class gets a pass, and that talent trees stop being ladders of tiny stat bumps. For Rogue that is a big deal because the original trees were full of exactly that: +1% crit here, +2% damage there. The reasonable read is that choices become more visible and more build-defining. But that is inference. The actual Rogue trees, cooldowns, poison changes and energy tuning have not been shown, so anything you read describing them in detail right now is guesswork.
The Paladin example is the only concrete class preview Blizzard gave (a tanking seal, more group healing, a full Retribution suite). If Rogue gets similar treatment, expect each spec — Assassination, Combat, Subtlety — to have a clearer identity than it did in 2004-era Classic. Wait for the beta to confirm.
Can a Skyborne be a Rogue?
Yes. Rogue is on the shared Skyborne class list for both factions. The Skyborne race requires the Skyborne Heroic Pack (€29.99 on the EU Battle.net shop) or a higher edition, and Skyborne characters start on Zephras Isle, a floating 1–12 zone. Skysight's +10% run speed on Horde Skyborne is the racial most Rogue players will care about, since it stacks with the class's usual mobility.
Is Rogue good for leveling in WoW: Forever?
In the original game Rogue was a solid but not fast solo leveler — good burst, weak sustain, no healing. Forever adds systems that help every class: Well Rested (extra rested XP per Legacy rank), talent points from level 9, the new 30–45 Riverglades zone with 150+ quests, and nine new dungeons spread across the whole 13–60 range. Whether the class revamp changes Rogue's solo pace is unknown until beta data comes in.
Will there be Rogue changes tested in the beta?
The beta runs September 17 – October 21 and caps at level 30, so you will see the low-level Rogue kit, the early talent choices and the Skyborne start, but not the level-60 endgame. Blizzard has not said whether class balance will shift between beta and launch.
What does "Classic Plus Rogue" mean?
"Classic+" is the community nickname for Forever: original-year World of Warcraft, endless level 60, new content added in patches rather than expansions. A "Classic Plus Rogue" is simply a Rogue in Forever — same class, reworked talents, new zones and dungeons to play through.
Play it yourself or skip the grind
If you would rather be at 60 for the December 9 raid unlocks than spend three weeks in Stranglethorn, PewPewShop offers WoW: Forever leveling 1–60 as a pre-order until launch (from EUR 25), dungeon-based leveling from EUR 40, or a Skyborne Zephras Isle 1–12 start from EUR 15 — all done by vetted human players, Self-Play or Piloted, with a long zero-ban record. Boosters quote 2–3 weeks for a full 1–60 at launch.
