Every Skyborne gets three racials: Walk on Air (a 10-second downward glide), Wind Blessed (+1% haste) and Elemental Insight (+5% damage to Elementals). The fourth depends on faction: High Order Skyborne (Alliance) get Read Ley Line, +100% health and mana regeneration, while Windshaper Skyborne (Horde) get Skysight, +10% run speed. • Skyborne are a new elven race from Zephras Isle, a floating starting zone for levels 1–12.
  • They are not a neutral race: you pick High Order (Alliance) or Windshaper (Horde) at creation, and the racial set follows that choice.
  • Playing a Skyborne requires the Skyborne Heroic Pack (€29.99 on the EU Battle.net shop) or a higher edition.
  • Forever launches November 4, 2026 at 3 p.m. Pacific; beta runs September 17 – October 21, capped at level 30.
  • Cooldowns, exact scaling and whether any of these numbers change before launch are not published — Blizzard has said it will tune numbers through beta.

What does Walk on Air actually do?

Walk on Air lets a Skyborne glide downward for 10 seconds. There are no flying mounts in Forever, so this is the only air movement in the game — think of it as a controlled descent, not flight. Practically, it means jumping off a cliff, a Thunder Bluff elevator ledge or a Stranglethorn hill and drifting down instead of dying or walking around.

Whether it fully removes fall damage, how far you travel horizontally and what the cooldown is have not been detailed by Blizzard. Beta testers will find out in the weeks after September 17.

High Order vs Windshaper — which racial set is stronger?

Read Ley Line (Alliance) doubles health and mana regeneration. On paper that favours casters and anyone who levels solo: fewer drinks, shorter breaks between pulls. Alliance Skyborne can also roll Mage, which is the natural fit for the regen bonus.

Skysight (Horde) is +10% run speed. In a game with no flying and no level scaling, permanent move speed is worth a lot while leveling and in PvP, and it works for every class. Horde Skyborne get Shaman instead of Mage. The honest verdict: Read Ley Line is the stronger sustain tool, Skysight is the stronger everything-else tool, and your faction and friends should decide before the racial does.

Which classes can a Skyborne play?

All Skyborne can be Warrior, Hunter, Rogue or Druid — Skyborne Druids get unique sky-blue forms. Horde (Windshaper) Skyborne can also be Shaman; Alliance (High Order) Skyborne can also be Mage. No Skyborne Paladin, Priest or Warlock has been announced.

How do Skyborne racials compare to the changed old-race racials?

Forever is not only adding a race; several existing racials were reworked. Tauren Cultivation now grows bonus herbs without needing Herbalism, Orc Axe Specialization gives critical chance instead of weapon skill, Gnome Expansive Mind raises your maximum resource, and Gnomes got a brand-new racial, Eureka!, that makes the next three spells cheaper and 10% stronger. Against that field, Skyborne racials are movement-and-utility focused rather than raw throughput — Wind Blessed at +1% haste is a small bonus, and the real draw is Walk on Air.

If you would rather skip the grind and get straight to endgame with a Skyborne, PewPewShop takes Forever pre-orders now: the Skyborne Start (Zephras Isle 1–12) is from EUR 15 and full Power Leveling 1–60 is from EUR 25, done by vetted human players in Self-Play or coaching formats with a long zero-ban record.
