The best gold making in WoW: Forever at launch (November 4, 2026) is selling what everyone needs and nobody has yet: raw gathering materials, bags and consumables. On a fresh realm with an endless level 60 cap, the earliest gold comes from two gathering professions while leveling, quest rewards and vendoring everything you don't need — not from endgame farms that don't exist yet.

Fresh realm gold: the timeline that actually matters

  • Week 1: nobody has bags, nobody has mats. Take two gathering professions (Mining, Herbalism or Skinning) and sell stacks raw on the auction house. Low-level cloth, ore and herbs fetch their highest prices right now because every crafter is leveling and supply is thin.
  • Weeks 2–3: the first players reach 60 and start gearing through the nine new dungeons, including Krol'Dok Stronghold and The Shaper's Terrace at 40–60. Demand shifts to mid-level herbs, leather and cloth.
  • December 9, 2026: Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and the 40-player Onyxia's Lair open per Blizzard's roadmap. Raid consumables and enchanting mats become the premium market — stockpile a week early.
  • Quest gold: the Riverglades adds 150+ quests at levels 30–45 with new reputations. Quest rewards plus vendor trash are steady, zero-competition income while you level.
  • Vendor every grey, auction every green. On day one a green a leveler can wear sells; a week later it does not.

What professions make the most gold in WoW: Forever?

Gathering wins the first month. Mining, Herbalism and Skinning cost nothing to level and every crafter on the realm is your customer. Blizzard has confirmed professions are updated in Forever but has not published the changes, so treat recipe lists and specific crafts as unknown until beta (September 17 – October 21) shows them.

Once the realm matures, crafting catches up: Tailoring for bags, Alchemy for consumables ahead of the December 9 raid unlock, Enchanting for disenchanted mats. Forever also adds Camping — player-built campsites with tradeskill buffs — which may change how fast crafters can turn mats into gold. Details are not public yet.

Is there a fastest gold farm in WoW: Forever?

Not yet, and be careful with anyone who claims to know one. Loot tables, dungeon boss lists and drop rates for the three new zones and nine new dungeons have not been published. The fresh-realm rule still applies: the fastest gold is whatever nobody else is farming, and that changes weekly.

What you can plan around: Mount Hyjal is the new endgame zone, and endgame zones historically hold the highest-value gathering nodes. With no flying mounts and no level scaling, ground travel and mob density decide farm speed, so pick routes with the shortest loops and stick to them.

How much gold do you need at launch?

Your first big purchases are bags, profession training and your first mount. Riding skill has been updated in Forever and the new costs are not public, so budget conservatively: sell raw mats early, skip gear you will replace in five levels, and hold your gold for the mount and December raid prep. Everything else can wait.
