The Shen'dralar are the Highborne night elves of Dire Maul, and World of Warcraft: Forever ships with expanded Shen'dralar content around Dire Maul, Maraudon and Razorfen Downs when it launches on November 4, 2026. Blizzard has not published the new quests, reputation rewards or boss changes yet. The realistic expectation is a larger Shen'dralar storyline that connects three existing dungeons at the permanent level cap of 60, delivered in patches rather than an expansion.

Shen'dralar in Forever: what is confirmed

  • Who they are: Highborne survivors who hid inside Dire Maul in Feralas for thousands of years. In original WoW they were a neutral reputation faction reached through the Dire Maul library.
  • What Blizzard said: Forever's launch content lists "expanded Shen'dralar content around Dire Maul, Maraudon and Razorfen Downs" alongside three new zones, nine new dungeons and two new raids.
  • The three dungeons involved: Dire Maul (Feralas, three wings, endgame), Maraudon (Desolace, mid-40s to mid-50s), Razorfen Downs (southern Barrens, high 30s to mid-40s).
  • Not published: new quest lines, faction rewards, whether the old libram turn-ins survive, loot tables, boss lists.
  • When you can play it: launch on November 4, 2026; the beta (September 17 – October 21) is capped at level 30, so Dire Maul-level content is not testable before release.

How Shen'dralar reputation worked before

In original WoW, Shen'dralar standing came almost entirely from turn-ins at the library in Dire Maul West. You handed in a Libram of Focus, Protection or Rapidity together with a Pristine Black Diamond, Large Brilliant Shards and a rare drop such as Skin of Shadow, Frayed Abomination Stitching or Blood of Heroes. Each turn-in gave reputation plus a permanent arcanum enchant for helms and legs. It was slow, expensive and mostly farmed for the enchants rather than the reputation itself.

Whether Forever keeps this system, replaces it or layers new quests on top is unknown. The wording "expanded content around" three dungeons suggests a storyline that spans them, but treat anything more specific as speculation until Blizzard posts details.

Why are Maraudon and Razorfen Downs part of a Shen'dralar story?

Blizzard has not explained the connection. What we can say is that all three dungeons sit in Kalimdor and all three are older-world dungeons that the Classic team has flagged for more content. Maraudon is tied to the centaur clans of Desolace and the elemental Princess Theradras; Razorfen Downs is the quilboar burial ground under the influence of the Scourge. How a Highborne faction from Feralas reaches into either is exactly the kind of thing Forever's rewritten questing will have to answer.

Is Dire Maul a new dungeon in WoW: Forever?

No. Dire Maul is an original dungeon that Forever expands. The nine genuinely new dungeons are Dalaran, Lordaeron, Hall of Thanes, Excavation Site, The Drowned City, Alcaz Island Prison, The Shaper's Terrace, Krol'Dok Stronghold and Blackmaw Hold. Dire Maul, Maraudon and Razorfen Downs get expanded Shen'dralar content on top of what they already have.

Can I farm Shen'dralar reputation in the Forever beta?

Not realistically. Beta characters are capped at level 30, which puts Dire Maul (and even Razorfen Downs at its intended level) out of reach. The first real look at the new Shen'dralar content comes after launch on November 4, 2026, with the raid tier following on December 9.

What should I do at level 60 before the raids open?

Between November 4 and the December 9 raid unlock, the level-60 loop in Forever will be dungeons, reputation, professions and PvP. Dire Maul's expanded Shen'dralar content is the most likely place to sink time for pre-raid gear and faction standing, with Mount Hyjal serving as the new endgame zone. Since loot tables are unpublished, plan on running all three Shen'dralar dungeons early and adjusting once the community maps out drops.
