In WoW: Forever, every unique dungeon boss item is now blue (Rare) quality, and set bonuses have been improved. Blizzard re-examined every dungeon drop for the November 4, 2026 launch, adding hundreds of new items, merging hit and crit into single stats, and giving caster weapons both spell damage and healing. Exact loot tables and boss lists are not published yet.

What Blizzard has confirmed about Forever dungeon loot

  • Boss uniques are Rare. Green boss drops that used to feel like filler are now blue across the board.
  • Set bonuses got better. Blizzard said this outright at BlizzCon 2026 but has not published the new bonus values or which pieces changed.
  • Every existing dungeon drop was re-examined, and hundreds of new drops were added on top.
  • Hit is one stat, crit is one stat. Spell, melee and ranged hit chance merged; the three crit chances merged too. A blue drop with +hit now helps a mage and a rogue equally.
  • Caster weapons grant spell damage and healing, and bonus healing now carries one third as much bonus damage, so healer gear is no longer dead weight while questing.
  • Weapon-skill items give less weapon skill; new stats instead reduce the chance your attacks are parried or dodged.
  • New item types: situational trinkets (Worgenbane Talisman), environment-based effects for Woodlands, Mountains and Deserts, and creature-type items such as X'caliboar.
  • Nine new dungeons ship with new loot: Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, City of Dalaran, Excavation Site (Wetlands), Drowned City, Blackmaw Hold, Alcaz Prison, Shaper's Terrace and Krol'dok Stronghold.
  • Quest and world loot also changed: Mor'ladim in Duskwood now offers the Ladimore Heirloom Ring for casters, Nesingwary's Stranglethorn chain adds the Master Hunter's Spellsword, world-drop epics were improved, and rare creatures received hundreds of new drops.

Which set bonuses were improved in WoW: Forever?

Blizzard's itemization recap says set bonuses were improved, full stop. It has not listed the sets, the pieces or the new numbers. The Classic team also revamped every class and specialization, so it would be a surprise if the old dungeon-set bonuses survived untouched, but treat any specific bonus you read outside Blizzard's own posts as guesswork until the beta (September 17 to October 21, capped at level 30) or launch data confirms it.

One knock-on effect is worth noting: with hit and crit merged, a set bonus that grants either stat is worth more to more specs than it was in the original game.

Does blue dungeon loot change transmog collecting?

Yes, and in a generous direction. Bind-on-pickup Uncommon and Rare dungeon drops grant their appearance to every eligible looter in the group the moment they drop, not only to the player who wins the roll. Since boss uniques are now Rare, a full dungeon clear fills the whole party's collection. Epic raid drops are stricter: only the player the item binds to learns the look. Armor type still matters (plate to plate, cloth to cloth), level restrictions on appearances lift at 60, and transmog is opt-in per player, with Classic Mode disabling it automatically while still collecting appearances.

Do dungeon bosses drop anything besides gear?

Some do. Advanced Camping objects come from Blueprint recipes dropped by specific dungeon bosses: the Alchemy Lab, the Tanning Rack (required for advanced Leatherworking) and upgraded Campfires that Cooks learn to hold five or ten crafted objects instead of three. Which bosses hold which Blueprints has not been announced. Professions gain 600+ new recipes overall, so expect dungeon runs to matter for crafters, not just for the gear itself.

When can I see the actual loot tables?

Not yet. Boss lists for the nine new dungeons and per-boss drops are unknown as of September 14, 2026. The beta opens September 17 for Skyborne Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection owners, but it stops at level 30, so high-level dungeons like Alcaz Prison, Shaper's Terrace and Krol'dok Stronghold stay hidden until launch. Blizzard's live Q&A on September 17 (18:00 BST) may add detail; the roadmap also promises two more dungeons in spring 2027 and two in summer 2027.
