Where Krol'Dok fits among the nine new dungeons

Forever ships with nine dungeons that did not exist in the original 2004–2006 game. Ordered by the level bands Blizzard has given, they look like this:

  • Hall of Thanes — 13–18, Alliance-flavoured, Horde can enter
  • Lordaeron — 15–20, Horde-flavoured, Alliance can enter
  • Dalaran — 20–35, a city dungeon
  • Excavation Site — Wetlands, level band not stated
  • The Drowned City — troll ruin off Stranglethorn Vale, level band not stated
  • Alcaz Island Prison — level band not stated
  • Blackmaw Hold — furbolg city, level band not stated
  • The Shaper's Terrace — 40–60
  • Krol'Dok Stronghold — 40–60

So Krol'Dok sits at the top of the ladder. It is the kind of place you'll run in the last stretch to 60 and then again for pre-raid gear, since the first raids (Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair) don't open until December 9, 2026. That five-week gap between launch and raids is where dungeon farming will matter most.

Is Krol'Dok Stronghold in Classic Era or Season of Discovery?

No. It is exclusive to WoW: Forever. Classic Era, Anniversary and Season of Discovery realms do not get it, and Blizzard hasn't said what happens to those realms after Forever launches. If you're searching for it in your current Classic client, you won't find it.

What level do I need for Krol'Dok Stronghold?

Blizzard lists it as a 40–60 dungeon. Forever has no level scaling, so a level 42 group will find the back half rough while a level 60 group treats it as a gear farm. Expect the practical entry point to be closer to the middle of that band, but that's a reasonable inference, not a published number. There is no flying, so you'll ride there — riding skill has been updated in Forever, though the specifics aren't out.

What drops in Krol'Dok Stronghold?

Unknown. Blizzard has not released boss lists or loot tables for any of the nine new dungeons. Given the 40–60 band and its position as one of the two highest dungeons, it is a safe bet that it feeds into pre-raid gearing, but which slots and which items is not something anyone outside Blizzard can tell you today. We'll update this page once the data is public.

Can I test Krol'Dok in the beta?

Not as things stand. The beta (September 17 – October 21, 2026) caps characters at level 30, which rules out a 40–60 instance. Beta access comes with the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection. The first public runs of Krol'Dok will happen after November 4 once players push past 40.

Preparing for Krol'Dok before launch

  1. Reserve your name October 27 – November 3 (up to three characters, any upgrade pack).
  2. Pick a class with the new combos in mind — Forsaken Paladin and Dwarf Shaman are in, and Paladins get a real tanking seal this time.
  3. Plan your 1–60 route. Level 30–45 has the new Riverglades zone with 150+ quests, which lands you right at the Krol'Dok entry band.
  4. Line up a group early. With no scaling, a full five-stack at the right level makes a huge difference.
